SCOUTINGÂ THE UT ARLINGTONÂ MAVERICKS
UT Arlington is 14-11 on the season and currently ranks fourth in the WAC with a 6-7 mark.
The Mavericks have dropped five straight contests since their last win at home over Southern Utah, 80-61 on Jan. 29.
UTA is 8-3 at home dropping its last two home games to Southern Utah last Saturday and against California Baptist on Jan. 31 falling in overtime to the Lancers.
UT Arlington leads the WAC in scoring defense (68.1) and three point percentage defense (27.7 - 4th nationally) and is second in rebounds per game (36.96), free throws made per game (16.6) & free throws attempted per game (23.1).
The Mavericks are led by senior forward Raysean Seamster who is fifth in the WAC in rebounds per game (6.6) and eighth in points per game (13.5).Â
Senior guard Marcell McCreary is 10th in the WAC averaging 13.4 points per game and is second in free throw percentage (84.7).
Sophomore guard Cash Chavis is third in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.77) and assists per game (4.0).
SCOUTINGÂ THE TARLETON STATE TEXANS
Tarleton State is 13-13 on the season and currently tied with Abilene Christian for sixth in the WAC with a 4-9 mark.
The Texans, who host Southern Utah on Thursday night before taking on the Trailblazers, are coming off an exciting 65-62 overtime win at home over ACU on Monday and have won two of its last three games.
The Texans are 9-4 at home this season while going 4-9 on the road.
Tarleton State leads the WAC & nation in bench points (38.7) & turnovers forced per game (18.8), ranks second nationally in steals per game (11.1) and leads the WAC in free throw percentage (75.4) & free throws made (18.1).
Senior guard Cam McDowell ranks first in the conference in free throw percentage (87.8) and is sixth in points per game (13.9).
Redshirt freshman forward Andy Sigiscar is fifth in the WAC in blocks per game (1.14) and blocks (25).
SERIES HISTORY VS. UT ARLINGTONÂ Â Â
This will be the Trailblazers and Mavericks eighth all-time meeting with UT Arlington leading the series, 5-2.
The Trailblazers earned their second win over the Mavericks at home on Feb. 5 winning a thrilling double overtime contest, 87-84 at Burns Arena.
The two teams also met in St. George on Jan. 15 with the Mavericks winning 56-52.
This will be the two teams fourth meeting in Arlington with UTA leading 3-0 at home.
SERIES HISTORY VS. TARLETON STATE
This will be the Trailblazers and Texans 12th all-time meeting with Tarleton State leading the series, 7-4.
The Trailblazers are 1-3 on the road at Tarleton State with a win in their last contest to Stephenville on Jan. 31 winning 65-59 led by a career-high 23 points from Noah Bolanga.
Utah Tech also defeated the Texans at home on Jan. 17 winning 75-71.
LAST TIME OUT vs. CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Trailblazers moved into a first-place tie in the WAC on Saturday night extending their winning streak to six with a 70-65 victory over California Baptist at Burns Arena.
Utah Tech, who also extended its home winning streak to five, was led by Bolanga with 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field and went 4-for-6 from three-point range.
Senior forward Ethan Potter notched his fifth double-double of the season finishing with 11 points & 11 rebounds and fellow senior Dario Domingos was a force off the bench recording his third contest this season in double figures tallying 11 points in 11 minutes.
WHERE THE TRAILBLAZERS RANK IN THE WAC/NCAA IN 2025-26
Utah Tech heads into the week leading the WAC in three point attempts per game (22.6), three pointers made per game (7.7) & three point percentage (34.3).
The Trailblazers are second in the conference in scoring offense (76.9), assist/turnover ratio (1.18), assists per game (14.5), field goal percentage (47.2), three point percentage defense (29.0 - 10th nationally) & turnovers per game (12.3).
Individually, Potter leads the WAC in rebounds per game (7.9), rebounds (212) & field goal percentage (58.4 - 33rd nationally). He is also second in points per game (15.8), points (427) & field goals made (170).
Trujillo leads the WAC in three point attempts (158), is third in three-pointers (48) and is fourth in minutes per game (32:42).
Bolanga is second in the WAC in three point attempts (152) & three-pointers made (54), is fifth in minutes per game (32:29) and sixth in rebounds per game (6.0).
Holt checks in fifth in blocks (25) & seventh in assists per game (3.3) and Tanner Davis is fourth with 48 steals.
HOT STREAK
The Trailblazers have won a program record six straight WAC contests for the first time in their six seasons in the conference.
It is the longest winning streak since Dec. 3-29, 2022 when the Trailblazers also won six straight with wins at Weber State and home victories over Chapman, The Master's, Westmont, Lindenwood & UTRGV.
With a win on Thursday at UTA, it will be the longest winning streak for the Trailblazers since winning 10 straight to open its final season in Division II in 2019-20.
THREE IN A ROW ON THE ROAD
The Trailblazers will be looking to move its road winning streak to three on Thursday at UTA which would be the longest road winning streak since winning its final six road games of the 2019 season (Jan. 18-Feb. 16, 2019).
WINS RACKING UP
The Trailblazers have now won their most games in the Division I era with their 16th win of the season on Saturday night against California Baptist.
CONSISTENCY IS KEY
The Trailblazers have shot 40 percent or better from the field & have hit at least six three pointers in all 16 wins this season.

Potter, Trujillo, Holt & Davis are all on track to finish in the top 10 in a single season in different categories.
Potter in points per game (15.8, 9th), rebounds per game (7.9, 5th), rebounds (212, 8th) & field goal made (170, 4th), Trujillo in free throw percentage (83.9, 9th), Holt in three point percentage (43.8, 10th) & Davis in steals (48, 4th).
As a team, the Trailblazers are top 10 in a season in field goal percentage (47.2, T-7th), 3-pointers made (209, 4th), 3-pointers attempted (609, 4th), 3-point percentage defense (29.0, 1st), steals (206, 7th) & blocks (89, T-8th).
WAC TOURNAMENT SET FOR MARCH 11-14 IN LAS VEGAS
The 2026 WAC Tournament is set for March 11-14 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas as the 2025-26 campaign will mark an end of an era as Utah Tech will compete in the final conference tournament.
The Trailblazers joined the WAC in 2020-21 during the first year of the program's NCAA Division I transition.Â
GOING "BIG" IN 2026
On June 25, 2025, Utah Tech announced that it had accepted an invitation to join the Big Sky Conference beginning on July 1, 2026.Â
Starting in the 2026-27 season, 14 of the Trailblazers' 17 sports will compete under the Big Sky Conference banner.
