SCOUTINGÂ THE CALIFORNIA BAPTIST LANCERS
California Baptist is 19-6 on the season and on a hot streak winning nine straight & sitting atop the WAC with a 9-3 mark.
The Lancers are coming off a 83-66 win at Southern Utah on Thursday night with a perfect 12-0 mark at home, but only have a 6-5 record on the road.
CBU went 10-3 in non-conference action with its only losses coming to Big 12 opponents in Colorado, BYU and Utah.
California Baptist leads the WAC in rebounds per game (40.64) & rebound margin (8.6), is second in rebound margin (4.6) & turnovers per game (12.6).
The Lancers are third in the WAC in free throw percentage (72.2), scoring defense (68.8) & three point percentage defense (29.5).
Graduate guard Dominique Daniels Jr., the WAC Preseason Player of the Year, leads the conference and is eighth nationally averaging 22.1 points per game.
Daniels Jr. also tops the conference in minutes per game (36:10) & checks in third in the conference in free throw percentage (82.2).
Junior forward Thomas Ndong is third in the WAC in rebounds (7.2) and second in offensive boards per game (2.61).
Senior guard Martel Williams is second in the league in minutes per game (33:18) and fifth in points per game (14.0).
SERIES HISTORY VS. UTAH VALLEY
This will be the Trailblazers and Lancers 28th meeting with Utah Tech leading the all-time series, 14-13.
The Trailblazers lead the series, 7-3 at home, CBU holds a 9-7 advantage in Riverside and the Lancers won at a neutral site after meeting in the 2016 PacWest Tournament in Irvine, Calif.
Overall, the Trailblazers are 1-2 at home with a win in St. George on Feb. 10, 2024 defeating the Lancers, 85-78.
This will be the 12th meeting between the two as Division I foes with CBU holding a 7-4 lead.
LAST TIME OUT VS. UT ARLINGTON
Behind a balanced scoring attack, the Trailblazers won their fifth straight game holding on for a 81-77 victory over Utah Valley on Thursday night at Burns Arena.
Snapping a five-game losing skid against Utah Valley, Utah Tech (15-11, 8-4 WAC) led by 17 at halftime and held on for a four-point victory for the Trailblazers' first win over the Wolverines since Dec. 2, 2023.

Chance Trujillo, the Trailblazers also got double figure contests from
Jusaun Holt (13 points),
Noah Bolanga (13 points),
Tanner Davis (12 points) and
Ethan Potter (11 points).
Potter nearly notched a double-double leading the way with nine rebounds and Bolanga led the team with four steals.
The Trailblazers had their best shooting night from the field since Jan. 1 at Abilene Christian hitting 54.4 percent (31-67) from the field, 47.4 percent (9-19) from three-point range and 62.5 percent (10-16) from the free throw line.
Heading into halftime with a commanding 42-25 lead, the Trailblazers continued to lead by double digits for the opening eight minutes of the second half, Utah Valley cut the Trailblazers' lead to 57-49 with 11:52 to play.
Utah Tech quickly answered back with a triple by Trujillo to push their lead back to 11.
A layup by Holt kept the Trailblazers ahead, 74-62, but a quick 6-0 run for the Wolverines trimmed UT's lead down to six (74-68) with 3:48 remaining in regulation.
A three-pointer by Trujillo halted the Wolverines' run and pushed the Trailblazers in the lead, 77-68.
Utah Valley refused to go away quietly cutting down UT's lead to two with a 9-2 run to make it, 79-77 with 17 seconds to go.
A pair of free throws by Holt ten seconds later iced the game for the Trailblazers' victory.
WHERE THE TRAILBLAZERS RANK IN THE WAC/NCAA IN 2025-26
Utah Tech heads into Saturday's game leading the WAC in three point attempts per game (22.7), three pointers made per game (7.7) & turnovers per game (12.5).
The Trailblazers are second in the conference in scoring offense (77.2), assist/turnover ratio (1.15), assists per game (14.5), field goal percentage (47.3), three point percentage defense (28.7 - 8th nationally) & three point percentage (33.9).
Individually, Potter leads the WAC in rebounds per game (7.7), rebounds (201) & field goal percentage (59.0 - 33th nationally). He is also second in points per game (16.0). & 33rd nationally with 167 field goals made.
Trujillo leads the WAC in three point attempts (156), is third in three-pointers (46) and is fourth in minutes per game (32:49).

TRUJILLO EARNS WAC PLAYER & NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Trujillo posted a career-high 22 points in a thrilling 87-84 double overtime win over UT Arlington on Feb. 5 with a standout performance making a season-best nine field goals and went 4-of-7 from three-point range.
Nailing the game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds of the second overtime, Trujillo added five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 42 minutes of action.
HOT STREAK
The Trailblazers have won a program record five straight WAC contests for the first time in its six seasons in the conference.
It is the longest winning streak since Dec. 3-29, 2022 when the Trailblazers won six straight with wins at Weber State and home victories over Chapman, The Master's, Westmont, Lindenwood & UTRGV.
NO TAKEOUT, WE'RE COOKING AT HOME
The Trailblazers have won four straight at home and are 9-2 this season in Burns Arena and are now only one win shy of matching its most home wins (10) in a season in 2021-22.
WINS RACKING UP
The Trailblazers have now won their most games in the Division I era with their 15th win of the season on Thursday night against Utah Valley.
