(Arlington, Texas - Feb. 9, 2026) - Redshirt sophomore guard
Chance Trujillo was named the WAC Player & Newcomer of the Week on Monday afternoon, the conference office announced.
Coming off a career-high 22 points last Thursday in a thrilling 87-84 double overtime win over UT Arlington, Trujillo had a standout performance making a season-best nine field goals and went 4-of-7 from three-point range.
Nailing the game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds of the second overtime, Trujillo added five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 42 minutes of action.
This is Trujillo's first WAC Player of the Week selection this season and second Newcomer of the Week honor after also earning the award following the first week of the season on Nov. 10.
The Trailblazers are back in action at home on Thursday night hosting Utah Valley (18-6, 8-3 WAC) for the Old Hammer Rivalry at 7 p.m. at Burns Arena.
