Utah Tech women's soccer head coach
Lexi Brown announced the addition of midfielder
Liv Leonard to the Trailblazers' 2025 roster on Thursday.
"Liv will be such a great addition to our roster," Brown said. "She's a player that we've been able to watch for a long time and have seen continue to develop over the years. She's athletic, skillful and versatile, which will make her the perfect addition to the roster. She's also an incredible person who we know will build our culture in the locker room, in the classroom and in the community. With four years of eligibility left, we know she has an incredible future in front of her at Utah Tech."
Leonard joins the Trailblazers after redshirting the 2024 campaign at Grand Canyon. This offseason, she trained in Phoenix, Arizona, playing all spring games and helping the Lopes go undefeated.Â
Originally from Murray, Utah, Leonard prepped at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, where she ushered the Eagles to back-to-back Utah class 5A state championships in 2022 and 2023. The four-year varsity squad member also contributed to Skyline's run to the state semifinals in 2021. Leonard totaled three goals and seven assists over her junior and senior seasons combined.Â
Leonard played club soccer for Utah Avalanche (ECNL and WPSL), winning the Utah State Cup in 2023 and reaching the Surf Cup final in 2021.
Leonard is majoring in exercise science and plans to pursue a career in physical therapy to help athletes recover from injuries and improve their overall health and performance. While academically a sophomore, Leonard has four years of athletic eligibility remaining.
