Utah Tech men's golf landed two student-athletes on to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-District® At-Large Team, which was announced this past Tuesday.
Among the 725 total honorees on the Division I team list were junior
Zach Felts and sophomore
Ashton McArthur.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances both in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors in men's golf, student-athletes must be a sophomore or older, earn a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and compete in at least 70 percent of the team-scoring events for the season.
Felts (3.86 GPA/business management major), who is now a two-time CSC academic honoree, played in all 10 team events last season and finished second on the team with a 73.17 scoring average. He also posted one top-10 individual finish and carded 12 par-or-better rounds.
Felts' lone top-10 showing came midway through the spring season at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational (3/31-4/1), at which he tied his collegiate career low with a t-sixth place finish at even par 214 at storied Chambers Bay Golf Course. In addition, he fired three rounds in the 60s last season, including a collegiate-low tying 4-under 68 in the first round at the Wyoming Desert Classic (2/24).
Felts also placed t-18
th at the spring season opening Eastern Kentucky Mesquite Desert Classic (-1 215; 2/16-18), and tied for 36
th at the WAC Championships (+18 234; 4/25-27). The junior currently stands in third place on Utah Tech's career scoring average list at 73.48 in 94 total rounds.
McArthur (3.56 GPA/marketing major) played in nine of Utah Tech's 10 total team events last season and finished fifth on the team with a 73.37 scoring average. He also posted one top-five individual finish and led the team with 13 par-or-better rounds.
McArthur saved his best for last, finishing third-overall at the 2025 WAC Championships in April, at which he closed with consecutive 1-under 71s on his way to a three-round total of even par 216. The sophomore also came away with a t-19
th showing at the Seattle U Redhawk Invite (+4 218; 3/31-4/1).
