Utah Tech University Athletics announced on Thursday that the Trailblazer women's swimming program will join the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) ahead of the 2025-26 season. 
 
The announcement comes on the heels of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) discontinuing its sponsorship of men's and women's swimming and diving following the 2025 WAC championships later this month.
 
Along with Utah Tech, six other WAC programs will make the move to the MPSF next season, including California Baptist, Idaho, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado and UTRGV. 
 
The MPSF currently has four member schools competing in women's swimming – Incarnate Word, Pacific, Pepperdine and San Diego, though USD will depart the MPSF after the 2024-25 season. 
 
With the addition of the seven WAC schools, the MPSF will feature 10 member schools competing in women's swimming and diving, and three competing in men's swimming (UIW, Pacific, CBU). 

Utah Tech already enjoys an established relationship with the MPSF as the conference has held its annual championship meets in St. George at the Trailblazers' HPC Pool.

"We have come to know the conference well through hosting their conference championships over the years. They do a fantastic job supporting a strong competitive conference. The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) was established in 1992-1993 to serve the competitive needs of member institutions from the Big West, Pac-10 (now the Pac-12) and Western Athletic Conferences, as well as other selected universities in the western United States; and to provide championship competition for Division-I Intercollegiate Olympic sports in a conference setting.
 
Now in its 33^rd season, the MPSF continues its legacy of championship competition, it affirms the vision of its founders and the relevance of its founding principles.
 
Entering the 2024-25 academic year, the MPSF sponsors competition in 15 intercollegiate Olympic sports, while serving 86 teams from 46 universities across 14 states. To date, the MPSF boasts 118 total national championships, with its 112 NCAA titles leading the nation amongst non-Power Four conferences. The MPSF won four NCAA titles in each of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years.
