Utah Tech put together a dominant weekend in the pool at the Pepperdine Rodionoff Invitational, which took place this past Friday and Saturday at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.

The Trailblazers combined to win 12 of the 17 total swim events, including eight of 13 individual races, en route to a meet-high 269 total swim points over the two days of competition.

Six different Blazers accounted for the eight individual event victories, including a pair of race wins for both senior Cera Mallory and junior Alyssa Gordon.

Mallory touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:14.43 - #3 all-time at Utah Tech) and 500 free (4:59.82), while Gordon placed first in both the 400 IM (4:29.07) and the 200 breaststroke (2:20.76). Gordon also posted a runner-up finish behind Mallory in the 1,000 free (10:26.26 - #7 all-time at Utah Tech).

Senior Mary Sims Cross collected Utah Tech's first individual event victory of the meet on Friday in the 200 IM (2:05.49). Junior Jenna Tracy (1:06.12) followed suit in the 100 breast as she as touched the wall first at 1:06.12, followed closely by sophomore Marta Valkovska in second place at 1:06.43.

Utah Tech swept the top three spots in the 100 butterfly, led by sophomore Kiana Hugins (56.75), followed by fellow sophomore Madeleine McGaughy in second and freshman Alyssa Soderquist (57.61) in third.

Senior Gabby Henry also got into the act in her 2026-27 debut as she sprinted to victory in the 50 free at 23.31, with McGaughy placing second overall at 23.89. Henry (51.59), along with McGaughy (52.04) and junior Nia Turagavou (52.52) placed second, third and fourth, respectively in the 100 free.

In addition, the Trailblazers swept all four relay races on the weekend, beginning the meet with a triumph in the 200 free relay, with the team of Turagavou, Henry, McGaughy and senior Sorina Rom clocking a time of 1:34.92 (#9 all-time at Utah Tech).

Utah Tech closed day one on Friday with a win in the 400 medley relay as the team of Cross, Mallory, Henry and McGaughy combining for a time of 3:48.30.

The Trailblazers picked up right where they left off to begin Saturday's session, with the "A" team of Cross, Tracy, McGaughy and Henry winning the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:43.64.

Utah Tech then wrapped up the meet in style with a victory in the 400 free relay as the team of Mallory, sophomore Coco Riding, Turagavou and McGaughy posted a winning time of 3:29.26.

Utah Tech will enjoy a three-week break before heading north to the Wasatch Front for a pair of in-state dual meets. The Trailblazers will open the trip with a dual at Utah on Thursday, Nov. 5, followed by a dual meet one day later at BYU on Friday, Nov. 6.
