Six members of the Utah Tech women's swimming team will head to SoCal on Saturday to compete at the 2025 MPSF Open Water Championships. The upcoming MPSF meet, which will be held at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, will mark the first time the Trailblazer program has competed at this annual event.

Utah Tech will race against swimmers across 20 universities from around the country, including members from fellow MPSF conference members California Baptist, Idaho, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado and Pepperdine.

Senior Natalia Zmierczak, juniors Kaiya Lawson and Cera Mallory, sophomore Alyssa Gordon, and freshmen Coco Riding and Addy Trinidad will represent Utah Tech in the women's 5,000-meter race beginning at 11:30 a.m. (MT).

The top-three collegiate swimmers in the women's 5K race will automatically qualify for the upcoming 5K USA Swimming Open Water National Championships, as well as the CSCAA Nationals in December.

Following this weekend's trip to Long Beach, Utah Tech will continue its 2025 fall schedule with three days of intrasquad time trials at the HPC Pool from Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
