Utah Tech made its MPSF Open Water Championships debut on Saturday at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, Calif.

Five Trailblazers took part in the women's 5-kilometer race, with junior
Cera Mallory leading the way for Utah Tech with a 25
th-place overall finish in a time of 1:05:54, which established a new school record for that distance.

Meanwhile, sophomore
Alyssa Gordon crossed the finish line in 48
th-place in 1:09:54, just ahead of senior
Natalia Zmierczak in 49
th at 1:10:05. Junior
Kaiya Lawson followed in 54
th-place at 1:11:00, and freshman
Coco Riding placed 63
rd with a time of 1:13:20.Â

Utah Tech will continue its 2025 fall schedule with three days of intrasquad time trials at the HPC Pool from Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
