Trailblazer Swimming Makes MPSF Open Water Championships Debut on Saturday

Utah Tech made its MPSF Open Water Championships debut on Saturday at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, Calif.
 
Five Trailblazers took part in the women's 5-kilometer race, with junior Cera Mallory leading the way for Utah Tech with a 25th-place overall finish in a time of 1:05:54, which established a new school record for that distance.
 
Meanwhile, sophomore Alyssa Gordon crossed the finish line in 48th-place in 1:09:54, just ahead of senior Natalia Zmierczak in 49th at 1:10:05. Junior Kaiya Lawson followed in 54th-place at 1:11:00, and freshman Coco Riding placed 63rd with a time of 1:13:20. 
 
Utah Tech will continue its 2025 fall schedule with three days of intrasquad time trials at the HPC Pool from Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
