OPENING SERVE
The Trailblazers close out their three-match Texas road swing on Saturday afternoon at UT Arlington.
LOOK BACK AT LAST WEEK
The Trailblazers are coming off a pair of wins in Texas last week defeating Tarleton State in four sets on Thursday and swept Abilene Christian on Saturday.
After taking the opening set, the Trailblazers dropped the second set before taking the third and fourth set with 25-22 & 25-16 set wins.
Led by a trio of Trailblazers with double figures in kills, UT was paced by a season-high 14 kills from
Sydney Reese while hitting a career-high .636 followed by 11 by
Taylor Snow and 10 via
Tessa Treanor.
Earning their ninth sweep of the season on Saturday, the Trailblazers extended their winning streak to six taking sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19 over the Wildcats.
Led by a career high nine kills from sophomore middle blocker
Lusia Langi, the Trailblazers also got six kills from
Tessa Treanor and five from
Nana Asiata.
Three Blazers notched double-figure digs led by 11 apiece from Treanor and
Kaleinani Watson along with 10 by
Mya Laufiso. Defensively,
Casidy Fried led the way with four blocks, including a pair of solo stops.
GLANCE AT THE UT ARLINGTON MAVERICKS
After winning both the WAC regular season and tournament titles in 2024, UT Arlington is off to a 9-8 overall start and a 1-4 mark in WAC play.
The Mavs, who are 2-2 at home this season, posted a 29-3 overall record last season and went a perfect 16-0 in WAC action.
The Mavericks opened WAC action with a sweep over Southern Utah on Sept. 27, but have dropped their last four non-conference matches.
UTA posted an 8-4 non-conference slate winning their first eight contests before dropping its final four matches.
A stellar serving team, UTA leads the nation in service aces (164) and is fourth nationally in aces per set (2.25).
Additionally, the Mavs are second in the WAC in opponent hitting percentage (.171), assists (775), kills (837) and total attacks (2,463).
Individually, junior libero Samantha Glenn leads the WAC in digs (304) and digs per set (4.16). Junior setter Mira Ledermueller ranks second in the conference in assists per set (8.51) and assists (604).
Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Alexis Bull leads the WAC in service aces (30) and is second in aces per set (0.44).
SERIES HISTORY VS. UT ARLINGTON
The Trailblazers and Mavericks have met four times in series history.
UTA swept both contests last season while the Trailblazers earned victories in five sets at home in 2023 and on the road in five sets in 2022.
TRAILBLAZERS EXTEND WINNING STREAK
The Trailblazers extended their winning streak to six matches with their sweep at ACU last Saturday, their longest winning streak since 2019 when they won seven straight. It is the ninth time in UT's 20 seasons of the NCAA era they have won six or more matches.

OFF TO A HOT WAC START
The Trailblazers close out the first half of WAC play on Saturday at UTA as they are off to a perfect 5-0 start.
It is Utah Tech's best start to conference play since opening RMAC play 6-0 in 2018.
WINS PILING UP
Entering action on Wednesday (Oct. 15), 29 Division I teams have posted 14 or more wins this season.
More than half of the programs with 14 or more wins hail from a non-Power Four conference (16 of 29). Towson leads the nation with 17 victories.
STELLAR START
Off to a 14-3 start to the season, the Trailblazers have matched the 2018 team as the best start to a season after 17 matches.
With a win over the Mavericks on Saturday, it will be the best start to a season through 18 matches as the 2018 team fell to MSU Denver in their 18th match of the season.
WHERE UTAH TECH RANKS IN THE WAC IN 2025
As a team, the Trailblazers lead the WAC in assists per set (12.13), hitting percentage (.231), kills per set (13.39), attacks per set (35.46), opponent hitting percentage (.153 - 10th nationally) & digs per set (14.26).Â
UT ranks second in blocks per set (2.77 - 17th nationally) & total blocks (169.0 - 26th nationally) and checks in third in assists (740), kills (817) and total attacks (2,163).
Taylor Snow ranks second in the WAC in blocks per set (1.32) & third in blocks (78 - 44th nationally) while Casidy Fried is fourth in blocks (75) and fifth in blocks per set (1.23).
Laufiso ranks fourth in the WAC in total digs (223).
FRIED & SNOW CLIMBING THE CAREER BLOCK CHARTS
Both Fried and Snow continue to climb the career block charts as Fried enters Saturday seventh all-time with 217.0 blocks and Snow sits ninth with 207.0 blocks.
Snow is fifth in solo blocks (35) while Fried is sixth with 29. Fried is eighth all-time in block assists (188) and Snow ranks 10th (172).
HITTING 1K
Junior setter Marley Roe became the eight Trailblazer in the NCAA era to hit the 1,000-career assist mark in a sweep over San Francisco on Sept. 13.
She has recorded 1,174 career assists in 67 career matches and currently ranks sixth in program history.
RPI RANKINGS
The Trailblazers enter action on Wednesday (Oct. 15) as the top-ranked team from the WAC in the RPI checking in at 90.
The remaining WAC programs see Utah Valley (157), Tarleton State (244), UT Arlington (264), Abilene Christian (267), California Baptist (272) and Southern Utah (316) among the 348 Division I programs.
The highest remaining opponent for the Trailblazers this season will be Northern Arizona (142) at home on Oct. 28.
SWEEPS ON SWEEPS
The Trailblazers have already matched their sweep total from 2024 after completing their ninth sweep of the season at Abilene Christian last Saturday.
It is tied for the fourth-most sweeps in a season as the Trailblazers notched 13 in both 2016 & 2018 and a record 14 in 2011.
ON THE ROAD
Since joining the NCAA ranks in 2006, Utah Tech has recorded a 106-108 (.491) record in true-road matches and has logged a winning record on the road nine times (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019).
Additionally, the Trailblazers have posted a 48-54 (.471) record in neutral-site contests.
The Trailblazers' five road wins are their most in the Division I era and most since 2019 (6). With wins in their final three road matches, it will only be the fifth time the Trailblazers have recorded eight or more road wins in a season joining 2009 (8), 2014 (9), 2016 (8) and 2018 (9).
