Utah Tech picked eighth in WAC Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll

The Trailblazers open WAC play at home against California Baptist on Oct. 3.

(Arlington, Texas - Aug. 16, 2024) - The Utah Tech men's soccer team was selected eighth in the 2024 WAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Friday.

After a third-place finish in the WAC regular season in 2023, the Trailblazers earned 33 points for an eighth-place position in the 2024 season.

As the reigning 2023 WAC regular season champion, Seattle U narrowly edged out defending WAC tournament champion California Baptist for the top spot in the poll with six of the ten first-place votes and 76 points overall.

Second place went to California Baptist with 72 points and three first-place votes, San Diego State took third with 58 points, and San Jose State checked in at fourth with 50 points.

Rounding out the poll is UNLV in fifth, Grand Canyon in sixth, Utah Valley in seventh with the remaining first-place vote, the Trailblazers in eighth, UTRGV in ninth, and Air Force in tenth.

Utah Tech hosts one final friendly match tonight taking on Colorado Mesa at 7 p.m. and will begin the regular season on Aug. 22 at CSU Bakersfield.
