Utah Tech head women's basketball coach
JD Gustin announced on Tuesday the signing of Eastern Kentucky transfer
Brie Crittendon to a financial aid agreement ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Crittendon played in two of the three seasons she spent with the Colonels' program and has two years of eligibility remaining.
"Brie brings to our team a level of veteran experience that we believe can be highly impactful," said Coach Gustin. "She's a strong, tough, physical guard with good size who will go to work each day and bring a competitive spirit. Her ability to shoot it will help us keep the floor spaced, but we also like how she attacks the paint."
Crittendon (5-10; Union, Ky./Ryle HS) was part of an EKU team that posted a 22-12 overall record this past season, which included a 9-7 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference play. The Colonels went on to advance to the ASUN semifinal round and also earned a berth into the 2024 WNIT.

She poured in a career-high 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five 3-pointers in a home win over Miami [OH] (12/6/23), which came on the heels of an 18-point performance with four treys two nights earlier in a home rout of Simmons (12/4/23).
Crittendon, who redshirted during the 2022-23 campaign, played in 31 games with 23 starts as a true freshman at EKU in 2021-22, during which she was mentored by current Utah Tech associate head coach
Matt Thune. She averaged 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds that season, highlighted by a 15-point, six-rebound effort in a double overtime road win at Appalachian State (12/21/21).
The Trailblazer newcomer prepped at Ryle High School in Union, Ky., where she averaged double figures in three of her four seasons as a Lady Raider, and graduated as one of four players in school history who tallied 1,700 career points.
Crittendon helped lead RHS to a 123-42 record along with one KHSAA state championship, four 33
rd District titles, and three 9
th Region crowns. She was a two-time Region MVP honoree and a 2021 first team all-state selection.
