(Orem, Utah - May 10, 2024) - The Trailblazers track and field team wrapped up day two of the WAC Outdoor Championships on Friday with a pair of program records and a top eight finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Scoring a pair of points in the 3000 meter steeplechase, freshman
Averie Perriton clocked a time of 11:13.92 to finish seventh in the field.
In addition to Perriton's performance, a pair of Trailblazers set program records with
Ashlyn Parish recording the second-fastest time in the 100 meter hurdles setting a new program record time of 13.63.
Finally,
Whitney Christiansen set a new program record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.54 to take off 0.07 seconds of her previous record time set earlier this season at the Southern Utah Coliseum Championships on April 20.
The WAC Outdoor Championships wrap up on Saturday with the finals of the high jump starting at 11 a.m. and the finals of the track events starting at 1:30 p.m.Â
