(Arlington, Texas - April 29, 2024) - Utah Tech senior catcher
Rachel Campbell was named the WAC Player of the Week by the conference on Monday.
Putting together a big week from the plate in the Trailblazers sweep over UT Arlington, the Castle Rock, Colo., native hit .625 in the series collecting five hits in eight at-bats.
Campbell smacked three home runs, including a pair of grand slams, along with a solo shot, and added 10 RBI in the series.
In Friday's first game of a doubleheader sweep, Campbell drilled a grand slam in Utah Tech's 15-1 run-rule win over the Mavericks and followed it up in game two with a 3-for-3 performance tallying another grand slam, a solo home run, and a single in an 8-4 win.
Campbell closed out the series on Saturday with an RBI single in the Trailblazers wild 9-8 win to complete the sweep of UTA on Senior Day.
Campbell is the second Tarilblazer to earn a WAC weekly award joining pitcher
Attlyn Johnston, who earned WAC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 25.
