Thanks to her career day in Utah Tech's home victory over UT Arlington last Saturday, Trailblazer fifth-year guard Breaunna Gillen was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Gillen (5-9; South Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills HS) poured in a career-high 38 points on 13-of-21 shooting with a career-best four 3-pointers (4-of-6), and went 8-of-9 from the foul line to pace three Blazer players in double figures.

The 2023-24 WAC Preseason Player of the Year finished four assists shy of her third triple-double of the season as she tallied a game-high 10 rebounds and six assists, though she did manage to notch her 11thcareer double-double. She also picked off three steals and blocked one shot for good measure.

Gillen's 38 points were not only the most scored by a player in the WAC this season, they were the most scored by a Trailblazer player in the program's brief NCAA Division I era, and the third-most in Utah Tech's four-year history.

Gillen (1,517 pts) also surpassed the 1,500-point plateau in last Saturday's win, becoming the first basketball player, male or female, in school history to do so.

Utah Tech (16-11/10-6 WAC) will close out its 2023-24 road slate with its fourth trip to Texas for a pair of games this upcoming week, starting with a "Leap Day" date at Tarleton on Thursday, Feb. 29.
