Pia Murray was named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday for her record-breaking efforts in the Trailblazers' dual meet vs. Northern Arizona last Saturday.
Murray (5-6; Preston, England/Ellesmere College/Florida State)Â broke two of her own school records, won three individual events, and was part of another relay race record-breaking victory against the Lumberjacks.

Murray broke her own school record in winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time 53.87, which bettered her current WAC-leading time in that event by 0.04 of one second. She then rewrote the school record in 100 butterfly with a winning time of 54.18, and won the 200 back in a time of 1:58.27 (#4 all-time at UT).Â

Murray also swam the third leg in the Trailblazers' 400 medley relay event victory, which clocked a school record time of 3:40.94.
Utah Tech will close out the 2022-23 regular season the weekend of Feb. 10-11, when the Blazers travel to Las Vegas to swim at the UNLV First Chance Invite.
