Utah Tech head women's basketball coach JD Gustin announced on Thursday the signing of Utah 6A all-state guard Ellie Taylor to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Trailblazer program for the 2024-25 season.
 
Taylor (5-10; West Jordan, Utah) is a two-time all-state selection, earning first team honors last season after she averaged 16.0 points, 3.75 steals and nearly two blocks a game as a junior at Copper Hills High School. 
 
Taylor scored in double figures in 20 games with nine games of 20 or more points during the 2022-23 campaign, highlighted by a pair of 24-point outings at Hunter HS (12/6/22) and at home vs. Riverton (1/19/23). The sharp-shooting guard hit also drained at least one 3-pointer in 23 of her 24 games last season.  
 
"We like the length that Ellie has for being a lead guard," said Coach Gustin, "She can really score it when she gets going and has a confidence and calmness to her game that will help her succeed in the college game."
