Two Trailblazers placed in the top-15 overall to help lead Utah Tech to a sixth place showing at the Weber State Kelsey Chugg Invitational, which was played on Monday and Tuesday at the Wolf Creek Resort Golf Course.
The Trailblazers blistered the course on their opening loop on Monday morning, breaking the team 18-hole scoring record with a 7-over 295 en route to a tie atop the leaderboard with Montana State after round one. 
 
Utah Tech bested its previous single-round scoring record by three shots, which was recorded in the final round (298 – 10/5/14) of the Golfweek Fall Inv'l played at the Sunriver Resort in Oregon during the 2014-15 season. The opening 295 also bettered the program's previous NCAA Division-I era 18-hole lowest score of 299 (10/6/21), which was shot in the final round of the New Mexico State Aggie Invite last October. 
 
UT followed up its record round with a 19-over 307 on Monday afternoon, before carding a final round 27-over 315 on Tuesday to finish with a plus-51 917 score. The 917 team total was, however, the fifth-lowest 54-hole team score in program history. 
 
Creighton (296-296-303-895; +31) jumped from third to first in round two and held on to the top spot to claim the team title, five strokes better than MSU (295-306-299-900; +36). Omaha (310-303-291-904; +40) wound up third, followed by the host Wildcats (298-308-300-906; +42) in fourth, and Eastern Washington (310-310-295-915; +51) finished two shots clear of the Trailblazers to place fifth.
 
Freshman 
Brooke Gelinas posted her first collegiate top-five finish in just her second event as she tied for fifth-overall at plus-7 223. Gelinas, who tied for sixth in the field in total birdies with eight, opened with a career-low even par 72, and after a 6-over 78 in round two, she fired a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to vault seven spots up the leaderboard. 
 
Senior 
Abby Livingston also had a great first day, which began with an opening 3-over 75 before she posted a season-low tying 72 to stand alone in fourth at plus-3 147 after 36 holes. Livingston, who tied for third in total birdies with 10, started her second round with an eagle – one of six eagles recorded by the field overall – and rolled in four birdies on her second loop. However a final round 8-over 80 on Tuesday dropped her into a tie for 13
th at plus-11 227. 
 
Junior 
Grace Williams (73-78-82) joined four others tied for 30
th at plus-17 233, followed by freshman 
Jane Olson (75-79-80) in t-35
th at plus-18 234, and freshman 
Aubree Johnson (84-79-84 placed t-56
th at plus-31 247 to round out UT's scoring. In addition, freshman 
Corinne Lillywhite (81-81-83) finished solo 55
th at plus-29 245 playing as an individual. 
 
The Trailblazers will wrap up their three-week, three-event stretch at the Eastern Washington Eagle Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played on Sept. 26-28, at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.
