Dixie State wrapped up its second NCAA Division I season with five more school records and one race medal on the final day of the 2022 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Championships on Saturday at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas.
DSU finished in seventh place overall with 227 points, 79 points ahead of eighth place Seattle U (148 pts). Northern Arizona won its ninth-straight WAC title with 770 points, followed by Grand Canyon in second (718.50) and Northern Colorado in third (530.50). Â

The Trailblazers earned their lone medal of the meet in the 200-yard breaststroke when freshman
Skyler Lyon won silver with a school record-breaking time of 2:16.10. Lyon led DSU and finished t-31
st overall with 32 individual points scored over the four-day meet.

Meanwhile, freshman
Ally Boynton broke her third backstroke school record on the weekend, this time in the 200 with a time of 2:00.34 to win her bonus final heat. Senior
Alaina Otterstrom closed out her Trailblazer career with two outstanding swims in the 200 fly, breaking the school record with a preliminary heat time of 2:07.71, and posting the second-fastest mark in school history with a 2:08.02 in her finals heat.

Paulina Sansores also clocked the second-fastest mark in the 1,650 free with a seventh-place 17:11.67.

Dixie State closed the meet with a school record time in 400 free relay with a seventh-place 3:26.57. Sophomore
Akalia Bostock set the pace with a school record 100 split time of 51.45, while junior Kyrie Sutherland, sophomore
Kathryn Carter and freshman
Mandy Farnum finished the record-breaking performance. Â
