Trailblazers break three school records at NAU Lumberjack Team Challenge

Dixie State women's track and field broke three program indoor records on Friday at the Northern Arizona Lumberjack Team Challenge at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The Trailblazers competed in 12 total events at the Lumberjack Team Challenge, including eight running events and four field events.

Rylee Jacobsen broke the first school record of the day, crossing the line in 16th place with a time of 5:35.83 in the mile run.

Addi Wyatt notched the second DSU record of the event, posting a time of 1:02.13 for an 11th-place finish in the 400m. Sadie Edwards also eclipsed the previous record with a 12th-place finish and time of 1:02.24, nearly two seconds better than last week's time at the BYU Indoor Invite.

Erica Holt tallied the final Trailblazer record of the meet with a time of 26.48 and a 15th-place finish in the 200m.

Dixie State competed in three running events for the first time in its indoor history. Emma Lloyd finished with a time of 9.27 in the 60m hurdles prelims, while Camilla Hamilton recorded a seventh-place mark and a time of 1:50.37 in the 600m, and Amy White finished in 15th place with a time of 2:39.80 in the 800m.

In the field events, Sophia Imola tallied a mark of 7.89m in the shot put and 12.78m in the weight throw, marking the first time a Trailblazer has competed in the events at an indoor meet.

Rashawnna Gibson finished in 17th place and distance of 4.53m in the long jump, while Morgan Callens posted a 14th-place finish and mark of 1.45m in the high jump.

Dixie State will travel to Ogden, Utah, for the Weber State Indoor Invitational on February 4-5. The meet will mark the Trailblazers' final event before the 2022 WAC Indoor Championships.
