Dixie State continued its 2021 fall season with a 15
th-place showing at the Oregon State Invitational played on Monday and Tuesday at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvalis.
After battling through an opening plus-28 312 Monday morning, the Trailblazers followed with a second round 302 (+18), and a final round plus-13 297 to finish at plus-59 911.
Washington (276-278-284-838; -14) led wire-to-wire to claim the team title, 11 shots clear of second place Boise State (279-280-290-849; -3), while Utah (286-281-288-855; +3) placed third.Â
Sophomore
Josh Pehrson (77-73-73) was the top Trailblazer finisher as he fired consecutive 2-over 73s over his final two loops to tie for 38
th-place overall at plus-10 223. Senior
Brock Nielson (78-79-69) bounced back from a tough opening 36 to card DSU's low round of the event with a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to vault 29 spots up the leaderboard and into a six-way tie for 50
th at plus-13 226.Â
Junior
Triston Gardner (80-72-78) finished tied with two others in 70
th-place at plus-17 230, followed by sophomore
Aman Uddin (79-78-77) in t-79
th at plus-21 234, and sophomore
Davis Heslington (78-80-81) in 84
th at plus-26 239.
Dixie State will wrap up its 2021 fall slate at the Pacific-hosted Visit Stockton Invitational on October 21-23, in Stockton, Calif. Â Â
