Two DSU Track records fall at Utah/Weber State Spring Classic

Six others set personal-best marks

The Dixie State women's track team enjoyed a strong showing in northern Utah on Friday and Saturday at the Utah/Weber State Spring Classic in Ogden and Salt Lake City.

The Trailblazers set two new program records, while six others set personal-best marks at the meet.

Freshman Rachael Reeder posted her first collegiate program record on Friday at the Weber State portion of the event. Reeder crossed the line with a time of 1:01.64 in the 400m to set the new DSU record.

Sophomore Billie Hatch continued her record-setting year, breaking her own mark in the 3000m with a time of 10:15.79 to finish in second place on Saturday. She also earned another win in the 5000m on Friday, finishing with a time of 17:40.44.

Three Trailblazers set new personal-best marks in the 200m dash on Friday. Reeder paced the DSU runners with a sixth-place finish and a personal-best time of 26.66. Freshmen Gabi Uboldi and Trinity Hill finished with improved times of 26.94 and 28.55, respectively. Hill also set a new in the 100m dash with a mark of 13.52.

Freshman Kayley Sayer bested her previous personal best with a toss of 34.08m in the javelin on Friday. Junior Alyssa Haring posted a new personal-best on Saturday in the 3000m with a time of 11:45.06. Sophomore Erin Hurst improved on her time in the 3000m steeplechase on Saturday with a personal-best mark of 12:42.34.

Dixie State will travel to southern California next week and will enter runners in both the Mt. Sac Relays on Thursday and the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday.
