GAME INFO:  Dixie State welcome the Lancers of California Baptist to St George on Saturday morning for the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Game of the Week on CBS Sports Network. Tip off is slated for 10:00 a.m. inside the Burns Arena. The contest will have live stats, live audio, and live video with the links available on DixieAthletics.com. John Potter, "Voice of the Red Storm," will cover play by play via DixieAthletics.com Showcase and 91.3 FM.

PACWEST GAME of the WEEK: An early tip-off awaits Cal Baptist and Dixie State on Saturday, but for a good reason. The game will be featured for a national TV audience on CBS College Sports Network and fans are in for a big-time matchup. Cal Baptist currently holds the No. 2 seed in the PacWest Tournament with a 12-7 record and can clinch with a win over the Red Storm.

ROAD TO SAN DIEGO: Academy of Art kept right on winning to add the regular season title to its long list of accolades this season. California Baptist has the inside track for the No. 2 seed and can clinch by winning its final two games.

Hawai'i Pacific and Dixie State, currently at No. 3 and 4 respectively, are close behind though, and need a little help to grab the bye seed. HPU needs to win its final game and have CBU lose at least once. Dixie State needs to win its final game and have both HPU and CBU lose all of their games this week for a chance at No. 2. The Red Storm can help their cause directly when they host Cal Baptist on Saturday in a nationally televised game on the CBS Sports Network.

Hawai'i Hilo moved up to the fifth seed with its recent surge. The Vulcans won three straight over the past eight days to move ahead of Dominican. The Penguins are one game behind UHH in the loss column. The two teams split the season series.

ALL-TIME vs. CBU: The Lancers lead the all-time series 4-3, having won the Jan. 18 matchup in Riverside 79-62. DSU is 2-1 all-time in the Burns Arena, having won the last meeting on 1/19/13 73-69.

LAST TIME AGAINST CBU: Cal Baptist claimed the first meeting between these two, 79-62, on the strength of Elise Shelton's 17-point, 11-rebound double-double. The Lancers remain one of the best three-point shooting teams in the PacWest, ranking second with an average of eight triples per contest. Dixie State is pulling for an off-shooting night for CBU, so its league-leading 50.4 rebounds per game average will play a factor.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST: The Lancers enter the game with a 14-11 overall record and 12-7 mark in the PWC. CBU had won four in row, before dropping a crucial game on Wednesday night to Point Loma. The squad scores 71.6 points per game and allows just under 68. They shoot 38.5 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from behind the arc, second best in the PacWest. They are led in scoring by Kamille Diaz at 13.4 ppg and she averages 3.5 rpg. Cassidy Mihalko also chips in 11.9 ppg to lead the balanced Lancer attack.

CAREER MAKER: Enter Saturday's showdown, senior guard Haley Holmstead (American Fork, UT/American Fork) has set single season records in points (576), scoring average (23.0), field goals made (209), free-throws made (154) and free-throws attempted (190).

LAST TIME OUT:  DSU team dropped a Pacific West Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon to first place Academy of Art University 97-81, at San Francisco State's Main Gym. A 12-0 start for ARTU (20-6, 17-1 PWC) saw the Red Storm (13-12, 11-8 PWC) really handcuffed early, as they were not able to recover and trailed 49-31 at the break. Despite 23 points from Brianna White (Phoenix, AZ/Tolleson Union) and another double double performance from Haileigh Emerine (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) (14 pts, 14 reb), DSU didn't have the firepower to Urban Knights in the game. The Red Storm had four players in double figures, Haley Holmstead (American Fork, UT/American Fork) finished with 16 points and Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) added 12 points. The Urban Knights clinched the Pacific West Conference Title and the No. 1 seed in the PWC Tournament on March 6-8.  Four player scored in double figures with Krystal Forthan had 22 points and 17 rebounds. Dixie State score 44 points in the paint and shot 40 percent in the second half, as they outscored ARTU 50-48.

RED STORM NOTES: After winning five straight, the Red Storm ran into PacWest leader Academy of Art last weekend, but enter the matchup with a 13-12 overall record and 11-9 PWC mark.  Thanks in part to the play of PWC scoring leader Haley Holmstead (American Fork, UT/American Fork) (23.0 ppg), who has single handedly rewritten the single season scoring records at DSU. Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) (13.1) is a streaky shooter and has potential to light of the nets from behind the arc. Brianna White (Phoenix, AZ/Tolleson Union) gives coach Turner the refreshing spark that she needs off the bench both on the offensive end (10.3 ppg) and the defensive end (32 steals & 2.9 rpg).

The Red Strom are led in rebounding by Haileigh Emerine (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) at 8.7 rpg, but Taylor Man is just behind her at 8.5. Both have potential to put up large rebounding numbers. Emerine has 10 double figure rebounding games and Mann has seven. Mann also set a new school record with 26 against Hawaii Hilo on Feb. 13.

Early in the season the Storm had trouble with holding on to the ball, they have committed 20 turnovers in 13 games this season, but have not done it for the past seven games. Dixie State averages 73.9 points per game and shoot 38.0 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from behind the arc. The real issue for the DSU squad has been allowing 75.9 ppg, but they have their turnover margin under 20 (19.5) for the first time this season.
