GAME INFO: Dixie State welcomes Pacific West Conference opponent Hawaii Pacific to Saint George for a Monday night tip off ischeduled for 5:00 pm in the Burns Arena. Live audio and video coverage on Dixie State All Access (DixieAtheltics.com/showcase) and 91.3 FM KXDS. "Voice of the Red Storm," John Potter has the play-by-play. The game will also be broadcast on DTV-KCEC.

ALL-TIME vs. HPU: DSU leads the series 10-2 and is a perfect 5-0 at home. The Red Storm won both meetings last season, inlcuding the 78-75 win in their last matchup in Honolulu on 2/6/12.

LAST TIME OUT:
Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ), Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) and Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) all scored in double figures to lead the Dixie State women's basketbal team to 80-49 win over BYU Hawaii on Saturday night in the Burns Arena.

Brown led the Storm with 22 points and 13 rebounds and added seven assists. Hayes added 14 points and eight rebounds and Thomas chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds.

The DSU defense turned it up a notch, forcing the Seasiders to 29 turnovers that led to 31 Red Storm points. The Storm held BYUH without a field goal for the final 12:12 of the game and outrebounded the Seasiders 60-38.

After jumping out to a 15-8 lead on a Jaymee Brugman (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) layup, the Red Storm led by seven. But the pesky Seasiders wouldnt back down, answering with their won 10-2 run and take a 18-17 lead with 9:04 left.

DSU regained the lead and went on a 28-6 run on the end of the half and led 54-24 at intermission.

The second half saw the Storm dominate both the glass and the floor as they secured the home victory. DSU shot 40.2 percent from the field and outscored BYUH 44-10 in the paint.

With the win DSU improves to 13-11 overall and 11-5 in the PacWest, while BYUH drops to 6-16 overall and 5-11 in PacWest.


SENIOR NIGHT: The Red Storm coaching staff will bid adieu four players on Monday night. Chanel Maxey (Anaheim, CA/Canyon), Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton), Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood), Mandy Munns (Brigham City, UT/Box Elder) and Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ). The players will be honored prior to tip-off.

NCAA STATS: Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) currently ranks 6th in the NCAA in rebounding at 12.1 per game. She also ranks tied for 6th in double-doubles with 13. As far as a team, DSU is 33rd in assists per game (15.8) and 15th in three point defense at 26.4 percent.

RED STORM NOTES: The Red Storm cruised to an easy victory over the Seasiders on Saturday night. Leading scorer Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) (16.4) and rebounder (12.1) earned her 14th double double of the season. Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) sits just under the 10 point mark at 9.9 per game. The Red Storm squad is 12-4 on the seaso when they out rebound their opponent. Winners of two in a row and five of their last six, DSU looks to close out their home season on a winning note and improve to 8-4 at home. DSU shoots 41.1 percent from the field, 27.1 percent from behind the arc and 64.9 percent from the foul line. They average just under 70 points per game at 69.9 ppg. Turnovers continue to plague the Red Storm offense, as they average 20.1 per game.

SCOUTING HPU: Coming off their biggest win of the season, the Sea Warriors knocked off No. 19 Grand Canyon 64-63 on Saturday night in Phoenix. Led by 13 points from Melody Ladrido, HPU shot 44 percent and overcame a six point halftime deficit to secure the victory. In the first West Region rankings released last Wednesday, HPU was the 10th seed and with only eight schools getting in. Academy of Art was 9th and Grand Canyon 5th. Winners fo their last three games, HPU aveages 73.0 ppg and shoots 42.8 percent from the field and a stellar 35.8 percent from behind the arc. They have a minus 0.2 turnover margin and out rebound their opponents 3.3 by averaging 42.4 per game. They have four players in that score in double figures with Larido (16.5) leading the way. Susannah Walmsley (13.8), Skye Savini (12.5), and Ieva Nagy (10.2) all average plus 10 points per game.
