Jumping out to an early 20-7 lead, SUU responded with a 26-4 run to end the first half to take a 49-40 lead at the half. In the second half, the pressure of the T-Birds continued to stymie the DSU offense and helped them run away with the victory. DSU committed 37 turnovers in the game. Leading the way for DSU was newcomer Haley Holmstead (American Fork, UT/American Fork) with 23 points. Returner Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) chipped in 20 points, hitting six three pointers. Newcomer Taylor Mann (Castle Dale, UT/Emery) had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

RED STORM NOTES: The Red Storm are coming off their worst season in DII at 15-13. They have never had a losing season in eight seasons. Overall record for the DSU WBB team is 123-66 overall. Turner likes to run and gun. She relies on her squad in a transition run offense. She likes to play up tempo and work for easy lay-ups.

TURNER SAYS: "Its a defensive mindset which creates easy layups. We need to play a complete 40 minutes and put together the complete package.
