WTEN: Red Storm sweep Mills College 9-0



OAKLAND, Calif. -- Playing a match for the first time in 18 days, the Dixie State women's team had little trouble disposing of Mills College in their return to action, winning 9-0.

The Red Storm swept through the doubles matches with 8-0 wins at both the No. 2 (Allison Evans (Safford, AZ/Safford ), Lindsay Snow (Saint George, UT/Pine View)) and No. 3 doubles(Kristen Nichols (Elwood, UT/Bear River), Sierra Smith (Denton, TX/John H Guyer)) spots.

In singles matches, No. 1 singles Krista Anderson (Saint George, UT/Desert Hills) disoposed of Alice Hewitt 6-1, 6-2 to get the Red Storm on the board. The rest of the squad eased thru their matches to lead Dixie State to victory.

Coach Eric Pelton said, "It was a good match and the ladies played well. We were finally excited to see some sun at match time."

The Red Storm will take on Notre Dame de Namur University this morning at 9:00 am and then prepare for the PacWest Championships beginning on Thursday in the Bay Area.
