(St. George - Sept. 10, 2025) – Utah Tech women's tennis will begin its fall schedule at the Idaho State Invitational on Friday through Sunday, Sept. 12-14. Matches will be played at Capell Park in Chubbuck, Idaho.
The invite starts at noon on Friday, followed by 9 a.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday. Montana will join UT and Idaho State as the teams participating in the tourney. The invite's format is an individual draw in both singles and doubles play, meaning student-athletes from the same school could end up playing each other in the draw.
At last year's ISU Invitational, the Trailblazers earned four wins in singles play and one win in doubles action with an 8-7 (7-3) win by
Mariana Zurita and then-newcomer
Maya Inouye over Rosie Sterk and Kate Pritchard from Montana.
UT returns seven letter winners from last year's squad, including 2024-25 Second Team All-WAC selection
Maya Inouye. The rising sophomore led the Trailblazers with 10 singles wins, logging a 10-6 record during the dual season, setting the UT Division I-era record for single-season wins.
The Trailblazers also bring back seniors
Nicole Kells and
Raquel Roshak; juniors
Olivia Bustos,
Ana Gutierrez Sampere and
Mariana Zurita; and sophomore
Nutsa Tsintsadze.Â
Freshman
Cameron Hendrix is Utah Tech's lone newcomer, hailing from Midvale, Utah.
Head coach
Eric Pelton is entering his 20th season leading the Trailblazers. He has amassed 111 victories since the 2006-07 season, including 22 wins since Utah Tech moved up to Division I in 2020-21.
UT is set for three more tournaments this fall, including the WAC Women's Tennis Invitational, which Utah Tech will host on Oct. 16-18, at Trailblazer Tennis Courts.Â
