Red Storm lose to Montana State Billings 91-87 in Overtime

BILLINGS, MT -- Trailing by ten points with under eight mintues to play in regulation the Dixie State women's basketball team battled back to force overtime but lost 91-87 to Montana State Billings tonight.

Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) scored 23 points and 13 rebounds and earned her 13th career double double performance. Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) had 19 points and Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) added 17 in a five of nine performance from behind the arc.

The Red Storm led at intermission 42-40, but did not have an answer for Bobbi Knudson who scored 33 points to lead the Yellowjackets to victory in the overtime period. Three other MSUB players finished in double figures with Brooke Tolman earning a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Red Storm managed to outrebound MSUB 54-44, but in the second half allowed nine of the fifteen offensive boards on the night. It led to fourteen second chance points.

Despite committing a season low sixteen turnovers, they still remained costly as the Yellowjackets converted them into sixteen points.

Dixie State will play Colorado State Pueblo tomorrow at 5:00 pm. CSUP defeated Notre Dame de Namur 59-38 in the earlier game to move to 3-0 on the season.
