HOST OF THE DIXIE STATE TIP-OFF CLASSIC: Dixie State College welcomes three teams to this year's Dixie State Tip-Off Classic, Montana State University-Billings (GNAC), Simon Fraser University (GNAC), and Coloradon Mesa University (RMAC) for this weekends games. The Red Storm will battle Montana State Billings on Friday, November 16 at 6 p.m and on Saturday they play Simon Fraser at 3:00 pm. Live radio coverage can be heard on KXDS The Storm 91.3 FM with Ryan Forsey(@Ryan_4C) on Friday and Jon Oglesby(@thethunderrolls) on Saturday beginning 10 minutes before tip.

STORM WATCH: DSC is off to a 1-0 start for the for the third consecutive season. Two years ago the Red Storm defeated Utah State 71-67 and went on to a 24-4 record in 2010-11. Last year DSC defeated Alaska Fairbanks 77-62 in Fairbanks, AK. This season marked the first time they have had a home opener during the DII era.

LAST TIME OUT: Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) finished with a career-high seventeen points and connected on two huge three-pointers near the end of regulation to help force overtime as Dixie State completed a 80-75 come from behind win over Cal Poly Pomona. Trailing 51-66 with 4:48 left, the Red Storm would end regulation on a 17-3 run. Miller hit two pivotal three pointers, her first would cut the Bronco lead to four with 1:37 remaining. After two free throws by J.J Judge, Miller would answer again cutting the lead to two at 66-68 with 1:00 minute left. A CPP turnover with 26 seconds left in regulation, gave the ball back to the Red Storm. Enter Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) who would take the ball on the out of bounds play and drive to the basket and draw a foul. She would make only one of the to free throws, cutting the Bronco lead to 68-67. After a Red Storm foul with 19 seconds left, a free throw from Rachel Hatch put the CPP lead at 69-67 going into DSC's final possession.  Brown again took the inbounds pass and isolated her defender down the court and as she drove the lane, the defenders crashed on her as she entered the key and she found a wide-open Kristen Marie Liana for a lay-up that would push the game into overtime. In the overtime period the two teams traded baskets before a key three-point play from Brown gave the Red Storm a 78-75 advantage at the 1:21 mark in overtime and the DSC defense held the Broncos scoreless in their final two possessions in the final minute to eliminate any chance of a comeback. Coach Angie Kristensen said: "Tonight was a great comeback effort win. Miller hit some huge shots down the stretch, but tonight was a great teaching moment. You can't just turn it on and expect to win games. Its about 40 minutes of basketball."

• MSUB YELLOWJACKETS (1-1)
>After dropping their opener Black Hills State on a last second shot, they rebounded nicely with a 79-64 win over Chadron State College. Bobbi Knudsen who scored 30 points in their win, leads the team averaging 21.5 points a game. Janiel Olson is the leading rebounder, averaging 8.5 per game. MSUB currently holds a plus eight margin over their opponents in the turnover department and have forced an average of 20.5 turnovers per game. The Jackets will look to continue this trend in Friday's matchup. As a team MSUB is out-rebounding their opponents 70 to 56, averaging 35 rebounds per game compared to their opponents 28. The Yellowjackets have limited the opposition to only a total of eight offensive rebounds thus far.
>Coach Kevin Woodin on Playing Dixie State: “The Dixie State tournament will be a great early season test for us,” “Dixie State is one of the top teams in the Pac West Conference and has great size, while Colorado Mesa has an experienced team that is excellent on the perimeter. Both games will be a great indicator of where we are at this time in the season. We are looking forward to competing this weekend and I expect us to improve on both ends of the floor.”

• SFU CLAN (3-0)
>Simon Fraser is quickly becoming one of the best teams in the West Region. They proved it with three quality wins to begin the season at the Disney Tip-Off Classic in Anaheim. The Clan defeated Grand Canyon (69-60), West Texas A&M (74-59) and #8 ranked UC San Diego (61-58).
>They are led three players who score in double figures. Leading scorer is 6-1 G/F Erin Chambers . She has made 8 of 13 three pointers she has attempted and averages 17.0 points per game. Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe a 6-2 forward averages 16.7 points and 10.3 rebounds. 5-10 senior guard Kristina Collins averages 12 points per game.
>They are coached by Bruce Langford who is been at SFU since 2001.
>Three different players have led the team in scoring this year. They are a dangerous team with many weapons.
>They only average 14.7 turnovers per game and have a plus three turnover margin.

RED STORM LOOKING TO MAKE A SPLASH EARLY: With the return of Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) and the experience of Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton), Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood), Chanel Maxey (Anaheim, CA/Canyon), Kirsten Marie Liana (Honolulu, HI/Farrington) and Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day), the Red Storm look to make a run at their first ever Pacific West Championship. Coach Kristensen always likes to schedule tough opponents in her non-conference schedule and having Cal Poly Pomona, Simon Fraser, Montana State Billings and Seattle Pacific on her schedule she has accomplished it again.
>The Red Storm have a plus ten rebounding advantage. The addition of Brown and Mandy Munns (Brigham City, UT/Box Elder) has helped the already solid Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) sure up the middle for Dixie State.
>Turovers are definitley the problem. DSC averaged over 23 turnovers in their three exhibiiton games and on Monday's overtime win over CPP they had 27 and a minus nine ratio. They will need to take care of the basketball to win early.
>Brown's 15 rebounds against CPP was five short of her career high 20.
>Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day)'s 17 points was a career-high for her. She is the leading scorer at 17 ppg. Followed by Munns and Brown at 14.
>All 10 DSC player's who played on Monday scored a point.
