(Boise, Idaho - Sept. 12, 2025) - The Trailblazers got back on the winning track on Friday afternoon sweeping Idaho State on day two of the Boise State Invitational in Bronco Gym.
Utah Tech (6-2) notched set wins, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21 over Idaho State (2-6) while outhitting the Bengals, .227 to .067.
Led by a double-double from senior outside hitter
Kennedi Knudsen with 15 kills and 12 digs, the Trailblazers also got a great performance from
Taylor Snow who tallied nine kills and added a team-leading four service aces & seven block assists.
Junior setter
Marley Roe added a team-high 24 assists and
Mya Laufiso tallied a team-best 14 digs.
How It Happened
The Trailblazers got off to a strong start in the opening set leading 14-10 after a kill by Knudsen and pushed their lead to six at 20-14 with a kill by Snow.
A kill by the Bengals pulled ISU within five, but the final five points of the set saw three kills and a pair of attack errors for a 10-point opening set win.
UT raced out to another quick start in the second set jumping ahead 10-5 thanks to a kill by
Tessa Treanor.
The Trailblazers pushed their lead 21-14 after four straight points, capped by a kill from Snow, but the Bengals refused to go away reeling off a 9-3 run to pull within one at 24-23.
Knudsen refused to let Idaho State complete their comeback closing out the set with her 10th kill of the match.
The Bengals raced out to an 8-3 lead in the third set and continued to lead 20-16 down the stretch after a kill.
Continuing to chip away, the Trailblazers reeled off a 9-1 run to close out the match and complete the Trailblazers' fifth sweep of the season.
Numbers To Know
- Utah Tech led Idaho State in kills (46-29), service aces (5-3), blocks (11-8), assists (44-26) and digs (58-42).
- Knudsen moved past Brita Jensen (824, 2009-12) for third on the program's all-time career kills list and enters Saturday with 829 career kills sitting only 22 kills shy of the program record.
- Roe enters Saturday only 15 assists shy of reaching the 1,000 career assist mark.
- The Trailblazers improve to 3-0 against Big Sky conference opponents this season.
