Elijah Dinkel put a shot on target by the left post in the third minute. Sac State junior goalkeeper Lucas Bost recorded his first save on the attempt.

Stockton Short dove to save a one-timer by junior forward Donovan Sessoms from the top of the box in the 28th minute.
Bost reached high to stop another good UT chance in the 35th minute. Junior midfielder

Miguel Regino tried a shot from more than 30 yards out that went high in the 39th minute.
UT foiled a Hornet free kick from the corner of the box in the 42nd minute. Junior forward Zac Giles put a ball with pace on target from long range, but Short made a strong save in his right post to keep the game scoreless.
Sophomore midfielder
Dunes Nielsen got under an attempt at goal from a free kick in the 44th minute.
In the 57th minute, Regino smashed a long-range shot that was blocked in the box by a Hornet defender.
The Trailblazers defused a dangerous Hornet free kick at the left corner of the box in the 71st minute. A team effort cleared the Sac State cross out of the box.
Sophomore Sean Battistessa was in the right place at the right time to score for Sacramento State in the 76th minute. After Short saved a shot from Sessoms, the ricochet went right to Battistessa, who headed in the ball to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
Khedoo responded for Utah Tech with his first collegiate goal in the 80th minute. After an initial shot by Khedoo was blocked, the Trailblazers regathered the ball, and fifth-year forward
Colby Lee sent a cross into the box for senior forward
Andre Saucedo. Saucedo chested the ball down and dished it back to Khedoo, who took a touch and launched a left-footed shot into the back of the net.
Sophomore forward
Taylor Rogers struck a shot on target from the top of the box in the 83rd minute, but Bost made the save.
Short made a final stop in the 88th minute, saving a high shot by junior defender Nick Strangio on a secondary header. Short finished the match with five saves.
Utah Tech held a 15-12 advantage in shots, but Sac State led 6-4 in shots on goal. The Trailblazers were called offside three times to the Hornets' one.
UT continues its road swing at St. Thomas on Thursday, Aug. 28. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (MT) at South Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.
