(San Luis Obispo, CA – Sept 10, 2026) – Utah Tech men's soccer shut out by Cal Poly in their return to the pitch on Thursday night after a nine day break.
Both squads got out to a slow start, feeling each other out in the first 20 minutes of action. The first shot on target came in the 23rd minute by Cal Poly (3-1-3) and it found the back of the net to break the scoreless tie.
The first scoring opportunity of the night for Utah Tech (1-4-0) came on a
Seth Powder shot attempt out to the right, which was followed up by a UT corner leading to a look from
Zach Taylor that went out up top.
Cal Poly outshot Utah Tech 10-4 in the first half, taking that 1-0 lead into the locker room.
After not a ton of offensive action to start the second half, the Mustangs doubled their lead on a score from Finn Linas.
The Blazers were only able to muster one shot in the second half, and they ultimately fell to the Mustangs, 2-0.
