Utah Tech freshman guard Ellie Taylor was the Trailblazers' lone representative on the 2024-25 Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball postseason awards list, which was announced by the league office on Monday.

Taylor was named to the WAC's all-freshman team after she finished third on the team in scoring at 10.1 ppg on 41.4 percent shooting (.407 3FG; 37-of-91).

The freshman started in 23 of the 28 games she played in during her debut collegiate season, and scored in double figures in 15 of those outings, including in 10 of her last 14 games overall.

Taylor scored 20 or more points twice during WAC play, highlighted by a career-high 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting with three 3-pointers off the bench at Tarleton State (1/11).

Taylor, who averaged 12.5 ppg in conference games (15th in the WAC), returned to the starting line-up in home win over Seattle U (1/16) and responded by scoring 12 of her team-high 18 points in the first quarter. She went 6-of-12 from the floor on the night with a career-high tying four 3-pointers and a career-best six steals.

The freshman's current stretch included a game-high 21 points in the SUU home loss (2/13), and 18 points at California Baptist (3/1). Taylor, who missed last Thursday's game vs. GCU and returned to score 10 points at Seattle U last Saturday, is averaging 12.7 ppg since returning to the starting line-up 13 games ago.

WAC regular season champion Grand Canyon was well represented on the conference's postseason list, collecting a league-high 10 awards. GCU guard Trinity San Antonio was named WAC Player of the Year, while her teammate Tiarra Brown was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Year.
In addition, Grand Canyon head coach Molly Miller was voted Coach of the Year, CBU's CeCe Legaspi was named Freshman of the Year, and UT Arlington's Aspen Thornton and Utah Valley's Kylee Mabry both claimed WAC co-Sixth Player of the Year honors.

Utah Tech (5-24/1-15 WAC) enters this week's WAC women's basketball postseason tournament as the No. 8 seed and will face No. 9 seed Seattle U in the tourney's opening round game, which will be played at the Burns Arena in St. George on Tuesday at 12 noon (MT).
