Trailblazers Earn Eight All-WAC Selections, Wright Named Freshman of the Year

(Arlington, Texas - Nov. 4, 2025) – Utah Tech women's soccer totaled a program-record eight All-WAC Selections and freshman forward Jocelyn Wright was named the WAC Freshman of the Year, the Western Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday.

The Trailblazers led the WAC with three All-WAC Freshman Team honorees and tied Utah Valley and California Baptist for the most All-WAC selections with eight apiece. Utah Tech's eight all-conference honorees set a program record, surpassing seven All-PacWest selections in 2009 and 2010.

Wright led the Trailblazers and all WAC freshmen with six goals this season, tying for fifth overall in the WAC. She also added an assist to finish the regular season with 13 points, tied for fourth on the team. Wright started 10 of her 19 appearances, scoring two game-winning goals and firing 28 shots with 17 on goal. She is the first Trailblazer Freshman of the Year since Whitley Johns was honored as the RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2018. Wright was also named to the All-WAC Second Team and All-WAC Freshman Team for her performance this season.

Senior forward Lacy Fox, senior midfielder Kyah Le and freshman defender Abby Olsen were selected to the All-WAC First Team. Fox netted five goals and a career-high six assists for 16 points in her senior campaign, ranking second in all three categories for the Trailblazers. Fox started all 19 games, playing over 1,300 minutes and blasting 38 shots with 20 on goal. It's Fox's second career All-WAC selection after being named to the All-WAC Second Team in 2024.

Le led the Trailblazers with a career-high eight assists, ranking third in the WAC and 35th in the nation, and career-high 18 points, ranking sixth in the WAC. Her eight assists are a Division I era single-season record and tie for third all-time in program history. Le also set a career high in goals, netting five this season, including a game-winner against UC Riverside. Le started all 19 matches for UT, playing just under 1,600 minutes while totaling 26 shots with 14 on frame.

Olsen has appeared in all 19 games this season, making 17 starts and playing over 1,200 minutes as a true freshman. She scored two goals and made two assists, logging six points. Olsen helped the Trailblazers shut out three opponents and set DI era program records in single-game opponent low shots (6) and shots on goal (0) in a 2-0 win over Abilene Christian. A two-time 2025 WAC Defensive Player of the Week, Olsen was also named to the All-WAC Freshman Team.

Sophomore midfielder Bre Koscielski was featured on the All-WAC Second Team, tallying her second career all-conference honor after making the All-WAC Freshman Team in 2024. Koscielski tallied career highs with four goals, five assists and 13 points in her second collegiate season. Making 15 starts in 17 appearances, Koscielski logged over 1,200 minutes, while notching 25 shots with 10 on goal.

Freshman defender Ava Talaeai made the All-WAC Freshman Team. A day one starter, Talaeai has started all of her 18 appearances, totaling over 1,500 minutes on the Trailblazer back line. Talaeai helped UT shut out three opponents and set DI era program records in single-game opponent low shots (6) and shots on goal (0) in a 2-0 win over Abilene Christian. Talaeai tallied her first career assist in a 4-3 loss at Tarleton State.

Utah Tech is set to face No. 2-seed California Baptist in the semifinals of the 2025 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament tomorrow. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at UCCU Stadium in Orem, Utah.
