WSOC – Trailblazers Tally Six on CSC Academic All-District Team

(St. George - Nov. 25, 2025) – Utah Tech women's soccer totaled six Trailblazers on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as announced on Tuesday. 

Representing UT were seniors Brianna Frey and Kyah Le, junior Michelle Rodriguez and sophomores Lataya Brost, Bre Koscielski and Lexi Nelson.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete needed to maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They also had to compete in 90 percent or start at least 66 percent of the team's matches played.

Frey (Management, 3.80) started all 20 games in net for Utah Tech, playing all 1,820 minutes this season. The goalkeeper posted a 1.59 goals against average with a .689 save percentage, while totaling three shutouts and 71 saves. She was also named WAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 21, after shutting out Tarleton State and Abilene Christian. 

A First Team All-WAC selection, Le (Exercise Science, 3.94) started all 20 matches, playing 1,704 minutes. The midfielder tallied eight assists to lead the Trailblazers, tying for third in the WAC and setting a Utah Tech Division I-era single-season record. Le also netted five goals to total 18 points, leading UT and tying for seventh in the WAC. 

Rodriguez (Psychology, 3.81) started all 20 contests, racking up 1,791 minutes to lead all UT field players. The defender helped Utah Tech to three shutouts and was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2 after leading the Trailblazers to a 2-1 win at CSUN. Rodriguez also scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory at Idaho State.

Brost (Population Health, 3.82) appeared in all 20 games, making 14 starts and playing 1,125 minutes. The forward scored a hat trick in an 8-1 victory over Southern Utah on Nov. 2. Brost also netted her first career game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Tarleton State on Oct. 16. She totaled five goals, five assists and 15 points on the season, ranking in the top three of each stat for Utah Tech. 

A Second Team All-WAC honoree, Koscielski (Finance, 3.97) appeared in 18 games, making 16 starts and playing 1,317 minutes. The midfielder totaled career bests in goals (4), assists (5), points (13), shots (26) and shots on goal (10) in her second collegiate season. She scored two game-winning goals and assisted on two game-winners, stepping up in crucial moments for Utah Tech.

Nelson (General Education, 4.0) started all 20 contests, playing 1,448 minutes. The forward scored her first career goal in an 8-1 win over Southern Utah on Nov. 2. She also assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory at CSUN on Aug. 28, and the equalizer in UT's 2-2 draw with California Baptist in the WAC Tournament Semifinals on Nov. 5 (1-2 PKs).

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
