(Arlington, Texas - Nov. 10, 2025) - Redshirt sophomore guard Chance Trujillo was named the WAC Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Putting together a strong first week as a Trailblazer, the Snow College transfer scored in double figures in three of UT's four contests on the week.

The leading rebounder and assist leader in the opening week averaging 6.8 boards per game (27 total) and 3.0 assists per game (12), Trujillo led the Trailblazers with 17 points and added a team-best 12 rebounds for a double-double in the season-opening 81-79 win in overtime at South Dakota on Monday.

The Kaysville, Utah native also led the Trailblazers with 15 points at Arizona State and tallied 14 points and a team-leading nine rebounds in a home win over Bethesda.

On the week, Trujillo shot 40.9 percent (18-44) from the field and made a team-leading nine three-pointers nailing at least one in all four contests.

The Trailblazers head to the OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic this week facing Manhattan, Mississippi Valley State and Hawai'i at the Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
