Trailblazers Stumble at Arizona State, 81-66

The Trailblazers open the OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic in Hawaii on Wednesday night facing Manhattan (1-0) at 7:30 p.m. MT.

(Tempe, Ariz. - Nov. 9, 2025) - The Trailblazers wrapped up their two-game road swing in Arizona on Sunday afternoon at Arizona State falling 81-66 to the Sun Devils at Desert Financial Arena.

Utah Tech (2-2) was paced by four Trailblazers in double figures led by 15 points from redshirt sophomore guard Chance Trujillo.

Noah Bolanga added 13 points, Ethan Potter tallied 12 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds and Jusaun Holt rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points and dished out a team-leading four assists.

Arizona State (2-0) also saw four Sun Devils in double figures led by freshman center Massamba Diop with 18 points to go along with six rebounds.

Maurice Odom added 14 points and dished out six assists while Sanitago Trouet tallied a double-double finishing with 13 points and 10 points.

As a team, the Trailblazers shot 40 percent (22-55) from the field, 30 percent (9-30) from three-point range and 59.1 percent (13-22) from the charity stripe.

How It Happened
With the Trailblazers staying close to the Sun Devils in the early going, a three-pointer by Bolanga got UT within one of ASU at 12-11. The third triple of the first half came from Holt to knot the game at 14, but an 8-0 run for ASU put the home team ahead, 22-14.

Another three-pointer, this one from Trujillo, kept the Trailblazers down by eight (27-19) with 5:17 to play, but a layup by ASU pushed the Sun Devils to a double digit lead as they took a 39-25 lead to the locker room at halftime.

With the Sun Devils continuing to lead by double digits throughout the second half, ASU built a 75-52 lead with 5:16 to play in the contest.

The Trailblazers continued to battle for all 40 minutes reeling off a 13-0 run getting three-pointers from Bolanga, Britton Berrett and Trujillo to cut ASU's lead down to 10 (75-65) with 2:39 remaining. The Sun Devils responded with six straight points to stave off the Trailblazers' comeback attempt going on for a 15-point victory.
