SCOUTING MANHATTAN
Manhattan is 1-1 on the season with a 125-59 victory over St. Joseph's Brooklyn and fell 114-83 at USC on Sunday.

The Jaspers are coming off a 17-14 overall mark in 2024-25 while finishing 12-8 in the MAAC tying for fourth in the conference. Manhattan qualified for the CBI falling to Incarnate Word in postseason action.

Manhattan was picked fourth in the MAAC Preseason Poll with junior guard Devin Dinkins and sophomore forward Will Sydnor earning All-MAAC First Team honors.

Senior guard Terrance Jones leads the Jaspers averaging 19.5 points and junior guard Jaden Winston is coming off a career-high 29 points at USC on Sunday.

Sophomore forward Fraser Roxburgh is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game while Dinkins is dishing out a team-best three assists per contests and averaging 12.0 ppg.

Head coach John Gallagher is in his third season leading the Jaspers with a 25-38 (.397) overall record. 

SCOUTING MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE
Mississippi Valley State comes into the Rainbow Classic with a 1-2 start to the season with a 97-61 win over Mississippi University for Women and losses to UAB & Murray State.

The Delta Devils went 3-28 in 2024-25 and finished 12th in the SWAC with a 1-17 mark.

Junior guard Michael James is leading the team averaging 24.7 points per game and senior forward Daniel Mayfield is the Delta Devils' top rebounder grabbing 7.0 boards per game.

Head coach George Ivory is in his fourth season at Mississippi Valley State with a 10-87 (.103) overall record. 

SCOUTING HAWAI'I
Hawai'i is 1-1 heading into the Rainbow Classic coming off a 100-74 home opener win over East Texas A&M on Sunday.

The Rainbow Warriors opened the season at Oregon on Nov. 4 dropping a heartbreaker to the Ducks, 60-59.

Hawai'i is coming off a 15-16 overall mark in 2024-25 and finished ninth in the Big West with a 7-13 mark.

The Rainbow Warriors were picked to finish third in the Big West Preseason Poll and senior forward Gytis Nemeiksa was named to the Preseason Coaches' Team.

Head coach Eran Ganot is in his 11th season and has a 172-119 (.592) overall record at Hawai'i.       

SERIES HISTORY VS. OPPONENTS        
This will be the Trailblazers' first-ever meeting against all three opponents.

This will also be Utah Tech's first meeting against a member of the MAAC and SWAC while it will the fourth program the Trailblazers have faced from the Big West joining Cal State Fullerton (1-0), CSUN (1-3) and UC San Diego (2-4).

TRAILBLAZERS IN HAWAI'I
Overall the Trailblazers are 22-15 (.595) in 37 total games played in Hawai'i.

UT has winning records against three of the four opponents they have played on the islands tallying a 7-3 mark at Chaminade, 6-3 at Hawai'i Hilo, 5-4 at Hawai'i Pacific and 4-5 against BYU-Hawai'i.

LAST TIME OUT
The Trailblazers wrapped up their two-game road swing in Arizona on Sunday afternoon at Arizona State falling 81-66 to the Sun Devils.

Utah Tech was paced by four Trailblazers in double figures led by 15 points from redshirt sophomore guard Chance Trujillo.

Noah Bolanga added 13 points, Ethan Potter tallied 12 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds and Jusaun Holt rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points and dished out a team-leading four assists.

As a team, the Trailblazers shot 40 percent (22-55) from the field, 30 percent (9-30) from three-point range and 59.1 percent (13-22) from the charity stripe.

TRAILBLAZERS AT NO. 13 ARIZONA
The Trailblazers battled tough on Friday night falling 93-67 to No. 13 Arizona at the McKale Memorial Center.

Utah Tech was led in scoring by Potter who finished with 15 points and tied for the team lead with six rebounds.

Freshman guard Tanner Davis tallied his second double figure contest of the season chipping in 11 points and Bolanga rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points to go along with six rebounds and a pair of steals.

TRUJILLO NAMED WAC NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Redshirt sophomore guard Chance Trujillo was named the WAC Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Putting together a strong first week as a Trailblazer, the Snow College transfer scored in double figures in three of UT's four contests on the week.

The leading rebounder and assist leader in the opening week averaging 6.8 boards per game (27 total) and 3.0 assists per game (12), Trujillo led the Trailblazers with 17 points and added a team-best 12 rebounds for a double-double in the season-opening 81-79 win in overtime at South Dakota on Monday.

The Kaysville, Utah native also led the Trailblazers with 15 points at Arizona State and tallied 14 points and a team-leading nine rebounds in a home win over Bethesda.

BIG WIN
The 110 points scored on Nov. 5 against Bethesda are the most for the Trailblazers since scoring 114 on Dec. 15, 2021 in a 65-point win over SAGU American Indian College.

The 45-point margin of victory is also the most since the 65-point win over SAGU American Indian College in 2021. 

It was also the first time in the Division I era and first time since Feb. 14, 2020 the Trailblazers notched six double figure scorers.

HOT START
The Trailblazers got off to their fifth-ever 2-0 start in the NCAA era joining 2009-10, 2012-13, 2013-14 & 2020-21.

WHERE THE TRAILBLAZERS RANK IN THE WAC/NCAA IN 2025-26
Through the first week of the season, Utah Tech ranks second in the WAC in three-pointers made per game (7.5) and is fourth in scoring offense (81.0).

Individually, Potter leads the WAC in points (62 - 8th nationally), & field goals made (21).

Trujillo leads the WAC in rebounds (27) & three-pointers made (9) and is third in minutes per game (33:55) & fourth in free throw percentage (90.9).

HOME OPENERS
The Trailblazers improved to 16-4 overall in home openers in the NCAA era with its win over Bethesda last Wednesday and have won five of their last six home openers in the Division I era.

SEASON OPENERS/ROAD OPENERS
The Trailblazers improved to 9-11 in season openers in the NCAA era and 2-4 in the Division I era with its overtime win on Monday at South Dakota.

It was Utah Tech's first win in a season opener since the 2020-21 season when the Trailblazers defeated North Dakota, 74-73 at home.

It was the Trailblazers first season-opening victory to come on the road joining six wins at home and two at neutral sites.

It was the fifth straight season Utah Tech has started the season on the road and ninth time overall in the NCAA era.

UT also moved to 9-11 overall in road openers.

TRAILBLAZERS SNAP ROAD LOSING SKID
The Trailblazers earned their first road win at South Dakota since March 7, 2024 at UTRGV snapping their 17-game road losing skid.

ELITE COMPANY
Head coach Jon Judkins is in his 21st season at Utah Tech sporting a 340-231 (.595) overall record and a 320-219 (.594) mark in NCAA play.

Only eight current Division I coaches have been at their schools longer - Greg Kampe (42nd season at Oakland), Tom Izzo (31-Michigan St.), Mark Few (27-Gonzaga), James Jones (27-Yale), Randy Bennett (27-Saint Mary's), Scott Drew (23-Baylor), Bill Self (23-Kansas) & Gary Manchel (23-Mercyhurst).

RETURNERS
The Trailblazers return six players from last season in fifth-year senior Samuel "Tobi" Ariyibi and sophomore guard Madiba Owona.

Other returners include senior guard Britton Berrett, sophomore forward Dallin Grant and sophomore guards Hunter Schenck and Preston Vandermyde.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
The Trailblazers welcome eight newcomers to the fold this season led by Potter, an All-WAC Preseason selection.

A senior forward from Layton, Utah, Potter comes to UT after three seasons at Utah Valley where he played in 80 career games and scored 459 career points and grabbed 293 career rebounds.

Joining Potter in the front court will be sixth-year senior forward Dario Domingos. A well-traveled WAC veteran, Domingos has spent time at both Tarleton State and UT Arlington along with UT Permian Basin.

The remaining six newcomers feature guards Chance Trujillo (Snow College), Boston Harker (Garden City CC), Jusaun Holt (Kennesaw State/Georgia/Alabama), Marvel Allen (Dayton), Noah Bolanga (St. Bonaventure) and Tanner Davis (Smithfield, Utah).

Holt and Bolanga bring previous Division I experience while Trujillo and Harker arrive from the junior college ranks.

Allen and Davis round out the newcomers and will provide great depth in the backcourt.

TRAILBLAZERS PICKED SIXTH IN PRESEASON POLL
Utah Tech was picked to finish sixth in the WAC preseason poll released on Oct. 28 with the Trailblazers tallying nine points. California Baptist earned the top spot as the preseason favorite registering five first-place votes and 33 total points.

Utah Valley, who went 15-1 in the WAC last season, was picked second with 29 points followed by Abilene Christian (27 pts.), UT Arlington (22 pts.), Tarleton State (19 pts.) in the third through fifth spots with Southern Utah (8 pts.) rounded out the poll.

UP NEXT
The Trailblazers return home next week to host Nobel University (1-4) on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at Burns Arena.
