(St. George - Oct. 6, 2025) – Utah Tech women's tennis is set for the ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by Brigham Young on Tuesday-Saturday, Oct. 7-11, in Provo, Utah. The two singles finalists and doubles champion pair at each ITA Regional will advance to the NCAA Individual Championships in November.
The Trailblazers will compete with schools from around the Intermountain West, including Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Weber State and Wyoming.
UT opened its fall season in September with a successful run at the Idaho State Invitational at Capell Park in Chubbuck, Idaho. Senior
Nicole Kells and freshman
Cameron Hendrix won the Bengal draw, while junior
Olivia Bustos and sophomore
Maya Inouye took second in the Black draw.
Utah Tech returns seven letter winners from last year's squad, including Inouye, a 2024-25 Second Team All-WAC selection. The rising sophomore led the Trailblazers with 10 singles wins, logging a 10-6 record during the dual season, setting the UT Division I-era record for single-season wins.
The Trailblazers also bring back seniors Kells and
Raquel Roshak; juniors Bustos,
Ana Gutierrez Sampere and
Mariana Zurita; and sophomore
Nutsa Tsintsadze.
Hendrix is Utah Tech's lone newcomer, hailing from Midvale, Utah.
UT is set for two more tournaments this fall, including the WAC Women's Tennis Invitational, which Utah Tech will host on Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 16-18, at Trailblazer Tennis Courts.
