Utah Tech combined to break three school records and found the podium on the opening night of the 2023 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Championships on Wednesday night at the City of Pfarr Natatorium in Pfarr, Texas.

The Trailblazers wasted little time collecting their first team medal of the meet, claiming silver in the 200-yard medley relay with a school record time of 1:39.84. Junior
Eleonore Rembert set the pace with a school-record 50-yard backstroke time of 25.22 in the opening leg, while juniors
Skyler Lyon,
Pia Murray and sophomore
Ally Boynton carried the Blazers the rest of the way to beat the previous school standard by nearly three seconds.

Utah Tech followed that up with a fourth place finish in 800 free relay in a school record time of 7:23.45, which shattered the previous record by more than eight seconds. Freshman
Ikea Losey opened with the second-fastest 200 time in program history at 1:49.97, and freshman
Natalia Zmierczak, junior
Gabbie Adams and sophomore
Paulina Sansores closed out the race in record-breaking fashion.Â

Day two of the WAC Championships will get underway at 9:30 a.m. (CT), with the preliminary heats in the 500-yard free. The final races for the second day will follow at 6 p.m. (CT).
