Utah Tech came away with several solid marks on night two of the 2023 Trailblazer Invitational on Friday at the UTU HPC Pool.

Through 24 events over the first two days of competition, the Trailblazers stand in sixth place in the team competition with 176 points. UC San Diego stands atop the eight-team leaderboard with 597.5 points, 77 points clear of second place UC Davis (520.5).Â

Utah Tech opened the evening session with seventh-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:43.51, which is the fourth-fastest time in program history. Senior
Eleonore Rembert set the pace for the Blazers as she clocked the third-fastest 50 backstroke time at Utah Tech with a 26.01 opening leg.
In the 100 breast, senior
Skyler Lyon placed fifth overall with a time of 1:03.58, followed by freshman
Grace Benson in eighth at 1:04.45.Â

Meanwhile, freshman
Mary Sims Cross continued her solid weekend with a fifth-place showing in the 100 back with a season-best time of 55.66. Cross also posted the seventh-fastest 50 back time (26.60) in program history earlier in the evening in the opening leg on UTU's "B" 200 medley relay team entry.Â
Utah Tech then closed the night with a ninth-place finish in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:40.57 (#8 all-time at UTU).Â
The final day of the Trailblazer Invitational will begin at 10 a.m., with several preliminary events, followed by the evening session at 5 p.m. Live streaming video of all Invitational events can be found at
