Dixie State wrapped up its third tournament of the spring season with a 16
th-place showing at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, which was played at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
After opening with a 14-over 302 in Wednesday's first round (302-290-300), the Trailblazers bounced back with a 2-over 290 on their second loop on Thursday to vault four spots to 14
th on the team leaderboard through 36 holes. However DSU came out on Friday and shot a combined 12-over 300 to finish the 54-hole event at plus-28 892.

Charlotte (285-284-270-839; -25) blistered the course on Friday with a final round 18-under 270 to win the tournament going away, while Nevada (287-280-290-857; -7), which held the 36-hole team lead, took home runner-up honors.

Senior
Brock Nielson (71-72-73) played steady over his three days, opening with a 1-under 71, followed by rounds of 72 and 73, to finish in a three-way tie for 17
th at even par 216. Nielson tied for eighth-overall in the field with 12 total birdies, five of which came on his Wednesday loop.

Meanwhile sophomore
Josh Pehrson (73-70-77) also carded 12 birdies over his three rounds, highlighted by a team-high six birdies as part of a 2-under 70 in Thursday's second round. Pehrson wound up tied with five other golfers for 41
st-place at plus-4 220 after a final round 77.
In addition, junior
Davis Heslington (77-76-76) finished t-89
th at plus-13 229, followed by freshman
Taft Lewis (81-72-78) in t-97
th in his first DSU team event, and sophomore
Camron Saunders (82-83-74) placed 110
th at plus-23 239.
Dixie State will enjoy a near three week break before heading back to southern California to play in the UC San Diego Invitational, will be held at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad on March 21-22.
