Dixie State broke two more school records as the Trailblazers posted several top-10 all-time marks on day two at the 2022 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Championships on Thursday night at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas.
Through the first two days of competition, DSU stands in seventh place with 82 points, one point ahead of eighth place Seattle U (81 pts). Northern Arizona is in the lead with 316 points, followed by Grand Canyon (285 pts) in second and California Baptist (187 pts) in third.
The Trailblazers broke their first record of the day in the 500-yard freestyle, where freshman
Paulina Sansores became the first DSU swimmer to post a sub-five minute time in program history with a preliminary 4:58.52. Sansores wound up 15
th overall in the evening finals (5:05.97), while sophomore
Gabbie Adams won her bonus final heat with a time of 4:59.36 (#2 all-time at DSU), and freshman
Jessica Farnsworth clocked the program's eighth fastest mark with a 5:03.74 in a preliminary heat.
The second school record fell in the final event of the night, the 200 free relay, where DSU placed sixth place with a time of 1:34.35, which included a 23.93 (#7 all-time at DSU) opening 50 time clocked by freshman
Ally Boynton. Sophomore
Akalia Bostock, and junior
Kyrie Nicolds and freshman
Mandy Farnum would go on to close out the race in record-breaking fashion.

Day three of the WAC Championships will get underway on Friday at 10:30 a.m. (CT), with preliminary heats in the 400 IM. The final races for six events will follow on Friday night at 6 p.m. (CT).
