Box Score Dixie State women's basketball suffered it's first loss in two games after Air Force came to the Burns Arena and won 63-48, making the Trailblazers now 4-6 on the season.
How it Happened: Emily Isaacson opened the day with a three right at the top of the arc for the first Trailblazer bucket of the game. Air Force then went on a 7-0 run to make the score 7-3 but
Talia Sireni hit her free throws to bring the game back 7-5. Air Force closed out the quarter on a 9-5 scoring run to end the quarter 16-10.
The second quarter the Trailblazers shots just weren't falling. Dixie State shot just 3-11 in the second quarter. The Trailblazers defense held the Falcons to shooting just 6-20 through the second quarter. The Blazers were 4-4 from the free throw line in the first half. The game headed into halftime at a score of 31-18.
The Trailblazers were saved by the free throw line in the third quarter. The Blazers went 7-10 from the line for seven of their 15 points in the third quarter. McCord had two of the Trailblazers layups in the third quarter to help the team end quarter three down 50-33.
Through the fourth quarter Dixie State found themselves down but trying their hardest for the comeback. Down 54-39 Maddie Warren took the ball all the way downtown to get the layup that forced an Air Force timeout. The Blazers were able to draw the game back within 11 points and outscored the Falcons in the fourth quarter, but Air Force was still too much for the team to overcome and they fell 63-48
Leaders: Dixie State was led by
Breaunna Gillen who had 15 points. She went 5-12 from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. She played 34 minutes and had five rebounds and four assists on top of her team-leading scoring. Isaacson shot 42% from the field.
Maddie Warren was the second leading scorer for the team with nine points. Emily Isaacson got 10 boards on the night, eight of which were on the defensive side of the ball.

Comparison: Dixie State ended the night shooting 36 percent from the field, 13 percent from beyond the arc and 82 percent from the free throw line. DSU ended with 36 rebounds, seven assists, and 18 turnovers. Dixie had 26 points in the paint and 16 points off the bench.Â
Air Force ended the night shooting 35 percent from the field, 28 percent from the three and 64 percent from the free throw line. The Falcons recorded 39 boards, 11 assists and eight turnovers. Air Force had 24 points in the paint and 16 points off the bench.Â
Notes to Know: DSU is now 4-6 overall on the season.Â
Up next: Dixie State will have one more home game before starting conference play. The Trailblazers will face Southern Utah in the Burns on Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. The Blazers will then start conference play on the road after a short break at Tarleton State on
