Trailblazer Tennis defeats Colorado Mesa in regular season finale

The Dixie State women's tennis team rallied for a thrilling come-from-behind victory in a non-conference matchup against Colorado Mesa on Saturday in the Trailblazers' regular season finale at the Elliott Tennis Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
 
The Trailblazers (11-4) found themselves in an early hole after the Mavericks (7-16) grabbed the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. Without the doubles point, DSU would need to win four of the six singles matches to claim a victory. And it did just that.
 
Dixie State rallied during singles play, claiming four singles matches to clinch the overall victory. Megan Lynch picked up the first DSU point with a 7-6, 6-4 win at the No. 4 spot, while Juliana Honczaruk earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 6. After dropping the first set, Kyra Harames stormed back to claim a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 triumph at No. 2. Isabel Heras completed the comeback win with a hard-fought 7-6, 6-7, 6-0 decision at No. 3.
 
The Trailblazers will now return to Grand Junction next Friday and Saturday for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships.
