Trailblazer Tennis falls at No. 33 Sonoma State

The Dixie State women's tennis team opened its four-match trip with a 7-0 loss at No. 33 Sonoma State on Wednesday in Rohnert Park, California.
 
The nationally-ranked Seawolves claimed the doubles point with wins in each of the doubles matches. The Trailblazers (6-2) came closest to a win at No. 1 doubles as Yolena Carlon and Isabel Heras battled to a 6-3 decision.
 
Sonoma State took the momentum into singles play, clinching the win with victories at each position. Hattie Erekson came closest to point at No. 6 singles, battling to a 7-5, 7-5 result. Carlon fought tough, but fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles to the 12th-ranked player in the nation.
 
Dixie State will continue its trip at Mills College in Oakland on Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. MT).
