Trailblazers Handle Colorado Christian Saturday Night, 3-1

Megan Treanor just missed her fourth triple-double of the season as she helped lead Dixie State to a 3-1 victory at Colorado Christian Saturday night inside the CCU Event Center. The Trailblazers (18-7) have now won six of their last seven RMAC matches and maintain hold of third place in the conference standings at 13-4 with one regular season match remaining.

The two teams split the opening two sets, with Dixie State using a 10-2 run to close out set one, 25-17, before the Cougars (10-15/6-11 RMAC) countered with a 25-20 win in the second frame to square the match at 1-1. The Blazers led wire-to-wire in set three, scoring 11 of the first 14 points in the stanza to roll to a 25-12 triumph, then pulled away late in the decisive fourth set to close out the match with a 25-20 result.

Treanor finished with a game-high 16 kills with a .357 hitting percentage, and collected 11 assists, nine digs and four total blocks, including one solo stop. Meanwhile, junior Sai Collins tallied seven kills and four block assists, and senior Lauren Gammell recorded seven block assists with four kills.

Dixie State hit .183 with 41 kills, while the Blazer defense combined for 12 total team blocks and 59 digs in limiting CCU to a .106 hitting percentage.

Dixie State wraps up the 2019 regular season next Friday night, Nov. 15, as the Trailblazers head up I-15 to Salt Lake City to face in-state rival Westminster College. First serve is slated for 6 p.m., inside the Behnken Field House.
