PREGAME READING
Three Things - Dixie State (14-6, 11-3)
1. Dixie State has not played NDNU at home since Dec. 5, 2011. The last three meetings have occurred at Gleason Gym in Belmont, Calif.
2. Senior guard DeQuan Thompson (Las Vegas, NV/Lake Mead Christian Academy) became the fifth member of the Dixie State men's basketball 1,000-point club with his first field goal made at Dominican on Jan. 29. Providing a spark off the bench in that game, Thompson hit a 16-foot jumper from the left elbow to reach the career milestone.
3. Freshman guard Trevor Hill (Sandy, UT/Alta) led the Red Storm with 13 points in the first half against Holy Names on Feb. 2. Hill is trying to become the second player in the PacWest to win consecutive Freshman of the Week honors (Jase Harrison, ART U).
Three Things - Notre Dame de Namur (4-16, 3-11)
1. The Argonauts look for their fourth league victory when they visit the Burns Arena. NDNU fell short of a 16-point comeback at home, falling to Point Loma, 62-58, on Jan. 31. The Argos have lost three straight games and eight of their last 10.
2. Jalen Moore, Jamaal Davis and Don Washington are NDNU's leading scorers, all averaging more than 10 points per game. Moore is ranked third in the PacWest in scoring (16.8) and free throw percentage (.845). Washington is tied for third in the league with Dixie's Zach Robbins (Upland, CA/Upland) at 7.8 rebounds per game.Â
3. Former playing standout at San Jose State, NDNU coach George Puou is in his 12th year at the helm of the Argos' program. Puou has a record of 116-171 and led NDNU to a second place finish in the NAIA California Pacific Conference back in 2005 with a 13-3 league mark.
SERIES RECORD
Dixie State leads the all-time series with Notre Dame de Namur, 14-3. The Storm have won the last 13 meetings between the two schools, including an 18-point victory in Belmont last season.
