Box Score Omaha. NEB – Every Dixie State College of Utah player scored Monday night in a 100-67 rout of the College of St. Mary's at Lied Fitness Center.
Dixie State broke a two-game losing streak in its most impressive showing to date to improve to 2-4 on the season. The Flames dropped to 1-10.
Senior guard Lindsey Chettinger (Sergeant Bluff. IA/Sergeant Bluff) scored a team-high 18 points with four three-pointers. Three other DSC players were in double digits – forward Tanya Clark (Beaumont. CA/Beaumont) had 15. BreAnne Haslam (Mountain Green. UT/Morgan) had 14 and Jessie Ingraham (Tuscon. AZ/Canyon Del Oro) poured in 11. Haslam and Ingraham both had seven rebounds.
St. Mary's took an early 4-0 lead. but could not halt Dixie's ferocious offense. Dixie went on a 10-1 run over the next four minutes to lead by five. 36 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes put Dixie ahead at the half 42-35.
DSC took full control of the game during the first 10 minutes of the second half. outscoring the College of St. Mary's 27-10.
Dixie had its best half to close out the victory. The team scored 58 points on 51 percent from the floor (20-39). DSC also hit 5 three-pointers in the half.
Dixie State will open their home season Friday night December 5th in Burns Arena against Western New Mexico. Game time is 7:30pm.
