Trailblazers Picked 3rd in Big Sky Preseason Poll, Land Two on the Preseason All-Big Sky Team

(St George, UT - Aug 5, 2026) – Utah Tech women's soccer was predicted to finish third in their inaugural season in the Big Sky Conference, according to the 2026 Big Sky preseason coaches' poll announced on Wednesday. UT also landed two players on the 2026 Preseason All-Big Sky Team in Jocelyn Wright and Bre Koscielski.

The Trailblazers were picked slightly ahead of Northern Arizona, who landed the 2026 Preseason Player of the Year, with 63 total points and landed a 1st place vote. This marks the second year in a row that UT has been picked to finish 3rd in the conference.

Weber State (74 points and four 1st place votes) is selected as the preseason favorite and had three athletes selected to the 2026 Preseason All-Big Sky Team. Just behind the Wildcats is Idaho (70 points and three 1st place votes) who also had three players earn 2026 Preseason All-Big Sky Team honors.

Forward Jocelyn Wright and midfielder Bre Koscielski were both named to the 2026 Preseason All-Big Sky Team. This is the second season in a row that Utah Tech has had multiple players selected to the preseason all-conference team, having three selected last year.

Jocelyn had quite the decorative season last year, as she earned the 2025 WAC Freshman of the Year Award, was 2nd team all-WAC, and was named to the 2025 WAC all-freshman team. She led UT in goals (6), and was third in both shots (29) and shots on goal (18) in 2025.

Bre had a solid 2025 campaign coming off her 2024 WAC all-freshman team honors. She set career highs in goals (4), assists (5), shots (26), and shots on goal (10) en route to earning 2nd team all-WAC.

Utah Tech will face UNLV in an exhibition match on Thursday, Aug. 6, in Las Vegas for their first game action of the fall. The 2026 season officially gets underway on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at UC Irvine.

The Trailblazers home opener is an in-state battle with Westminster on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m., and their conference opener is set for Thursday, Oct. 1, at  7 p.m. at Greater Zion Stadium versus Portland State.
